For a slice-of-life story about a socially anxious alien, Solar Wind has some pretty freaky moments. Many of these invoke existential angst with a hearty dollop of parental fears. On the other hand, though, some of them are just plain creepy.

• When Berria first takes full control of Tav's mind in Act 1, Chapter 3, the effect is... jarring, to say the least. Doubles as Foreshadowing.

  • Furthermore, Tav's solution to this problem - to punch themself as hard as they can in the eye - doubles as a freaky bit of Eye Scream.
• Jaden's reaction to alcohol in "Kedzie," though not a traditional example of Nightmare Fuel, is... freaky.
  • After downing an excessive amount of vodka, his vision goes entirely black, and the details of the rest of his environment become obscured. It serves as a wakeup call that the story's portrayal of hedonism is about to get Darker and Edgier.
  • Later on, Amaya invites him into her room, and it's implied that they have some sort of sexual encounter. We don't know for sure, though, since Jaden blacks out halfway through, and wakes up on the floor of Amaya's bathroom two hours later. It's a three-fer of Nightmare Fuel and Tear Jerker.
