Nightmare Fuel / Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs

• King White said in his journal that people around his castle were disappearing. It is implied that Regina was using those missing people in order to regain her youth by turning them into magic trees, just like she did with Snow White near the end. This is shown happening to two magic trees at the beginning - once producing shoes that wither, and once producing the shoes that Snow White takes - and toward the end we learn that Regina can turn people into trees that produce one pair of shoes then wither and die.
• Snow White being painfully turned into a tree in the movie’s climax. We’re spared from seeing most of it, but we see her turning into wood from the feet up, and hear her choked sounds of pain and the creaking of wood. When we see her again later, as a fully-transformed tree, we can see her screaming face in the trunk.
