  • It's a rather fitting Book Ends how Merlin ends his curse. His curse began when he zapped the Fairy Princess he mistook for a witch with lightning bolt. Near the story's end, he defeats an actual witch with an even stronger lightning bolt, saving the one person who (unknown to him at the time) would save his life and break the curse.
    • If anything, the strength of both lightning bolts can be symbolic of Merlin's views on beauty. The first lightning was smaller, reflecting how short-sighted and shallow his view of beauty was. The second lightning was powerful and brilliant, as though signifying his personal growth at understanding True Beauty Is on the Inside.
  • If the end credits is truly canon, then some of the other dwarfs no doubt have found their significant other who will help break their curse. The women they fall in love with suits each of them perfectly.
    • Arthur falls in love with Red Riding Hood. As a werewolf, she shares Arthur's strength, something he takes pride in and could find common grounds with.
    • Jack is charmed by the inverted mermaid because she presented him with a pearl. This is a call back to when he tried to win over Red Shoes with jewelry. Looks like they're a match made in heaven.
    • Hans cooks food that inadvertently awakens and attracts a starving Sleeping Beauty. No doubt that between his love for cooking and Sleeping Beauty's appreciation for food, they're going to get along quite well.
