Let the darkness consume you...
- The Druun are just dripping in it, as their effect on the world is a constant presence. Even before her first Jump Scare with a Druun, Raya sees an entire petrified family on her way to the river's end.
- Discussed in-universe by the characters as they go down the river and watch Druun stalking the banks. You can pretend the world is normal during the day when you're on the water, but at night, you can see the monsters that stalk the land from far away thanks to their deathly, purple glow.
- Raya and Sisu finding the Tail chief…or at least what’s left of her. She hoarded her segment of the gem, booby trapped her hideaway and apparently became a victim of her own traps.
- Just the fact that The End of the World as We Know It is played terrifyingly straight in the film. Nothing but the gem shards and water can stop the Druun, who have already petrified almost all of Tail, Heart, and Spine by the start of the film and are only growing more numerous.
- Not helped by the climax, which shows us exactly what a Druun invasion of a doomed city looks like first-hand.
- Raya herself during the final fight with Namaari. She's absolutely bloodthirsty for revenge against Namaari for shooting Sisu, with her Unflinching Walk through the ruined city. She was already more serious than most Disney Princesses, but once that Death Glare comes out it's a reminder that she's also a hardened warrior.
