Dorothy Must Die

  • Indigo's death. Pink bubbles are blown at her by one of the Tin Woodsman's cronies, which stick to her skin and melt her into a puddle of blood and bones.
  • Not even minutes after arriving in Oz, Amy comes across a tortured monkey hung upside down from a post and left to die of exposure, with a sign next to him that reads “For the Crime of Sass.”
  • To maintain his superior intelligence, The Scarecrow harvests brain matter from smarter individuals, liquefies it, and has servants inject it into his own brain, which is now just a gooey pink mass.
  • Oz isn't beating any bushes - it's not even a Crapsaccharine World, it's an utterly Crapsack World ruled by the mad tyrant Princess Dorothy, with the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion serving as her enforcers.
  • Because Happiness Is Mandatory in Dorothy-ruled Oz, people use a lipgloss-like cosmetic product called PermaSmile that forces the corners of your mouth upwards into a Slasher Smile.
  • Many of the Revolutionary Order of the Wicked’s members have been personally mutilated by Dorothy or her cronies.
    • Melindra is a girl who is half tin on one side of her body from being experimented on by the Scarecrow. When she laughs, the flesh and blood side of her face reacts while the metal side remains frozen.
    • Annabel used to be a Horner, but had her horn chopped off when Dorothy started offering large rewards for anyone who brought her a Horner’s horn, as it contained powerful magic. She has a round scar on her forehead that is described as “smooth as exposed bone”.
    • Glamora has a crescent shaped hole in her cheek from her twin sister Glinda through which her teeth can be seen.
  • The Flying Monkeys are bound to serve and obey whoever owns the Golden Cap. Naturally, this sucks, but they've discovered one way to break the Golden Cap’s control over them. What is it? Sawing their wings off!
  • Dorothy regularly has palace servants and staff brutally punished for the smallest of offenses. Multiple maids have been executed because they brushed the princess’s hair with 999 or 1,001 strokes instead of exactly 1,000. A young guard gets his eye popped out and eaten by the Lion for directly looking at Dorothy’s face for a second. Jellia accidentally drops a tiny blob of pink nail polish on the already pink carpet while painting Dorothy’s nails, and Dorothy makes her kill a mouse by squeezing it to death and forces her to carry around the rotting corpse in her dress pocket.
  • Amy, while disguised as a maid named Astrid, gets a promotion to Dorothy’s new lady-in-waiting because the previous one, Hannah, got mauled by the Lion and reconstructed by the Scarecrow into a Tin Soldier.
  • When Amy breaks into the Scarecrow’s lab to rescue Maude, she sees tables filled with torture instruments, a chair with restraint straps, and jars filled with brains and other body parts like hands, ears, and tiny wings that she guesses came from baby monkeys.
  • Shortly after being freed, Maude requests that Amy use her knife to cut her wings off so she can't be controlled anymore. And she can't even scream while it happens, or they'll be caught.
  • To save Amy from being caught as the Order's mole after she frees Maude, Jellia says she did it. She tries to make a last stand against Dorothy with her own magic, but the Lion tears her arm off at the shoulder and eats it.
  • After Jellia is killed during interrogation (with the details thankfully left out), Dorothy has the Scarecrow magically reanimate her corpse so she can "attend" the party as a warning to anyone else thinking of crossing her. Her eyes are empty black sockets and her mouth hangs open in a frozen scream.
Dorothy: Deceased or not, I wouldn’t want my favorite servant to miss the most fabulous party Oz has ever seen.

No Place Like Oz

  • Aunt Em and Uncle Henry are dragged with Dorothy to Oz. Imagine the poor farm animals left behind, trapped and unable to eat.
