Tropes

  • Face on the Cover: Both his Self-Titled Album and "Back From The Edge" have pictures of him on the cover.
  • Grow Old with Me: The singer in "Say You Won't Let Go" sings to his lover that he wants to stay with them until they're grey and old.
  • One-Woman Song: "Emily", which is him singing about a hypothetical daughter should he become a father.
  • Meaningful Name: "Back From The Edge" is named since it was about recovering from mental struggle following his success on the X-Factor.
  • Silly Love Songs: Some of his songs are these, notably "Say You Won't Let Go"
I knew I loved you then
But you'd never know
'Cause I played it cool when I was scared of letting go
I know I needed you
But I never showed
But I wanna stay with you until we're grey and old
