Missing Episode / The Arkn Mythos

Go To

While The Arkn Mythos isn't very old, a surprising amount of content has been lost over time.

The Arkn Mythos (General)

  • DeathlyLogic deleted their Tumblr (and many of their side blogs) in September 2018 as part of a personal effort to "rebrand". While quite a bit of content was backed up (or recovered), some material from the franchise was lost. Among the casualties were the Arknverse short stories "Magic Isn't Real" note  and "Almost" note , several chapters from the original Arknthology Stories and the remade Arknthology Stories blog, and many of the one-shots from Arkn: Legacy (as well as the blog Malachi X). Also lost were a number of posts discussing (and explaining) lore and providing behind-the-scenes information.

The Arknverse

  • Many blogs and vlogs set in Arknverse A have been deleted in their entirety (for a variety of reasons).
  • The biggest casualty, by far, is the Timeless storyline: nearly all of the content related to the canon was removed (with the exception of two blogs — both of which were decanonized) when the storyline's creator left the franchise. Said creator intended for her work to be completely decanonized; her co-creators refused, however, as the lore he'd created (which includes such elements as The Debigraff Effect) was pivotal to the franchise, and removing it would have destroyed a number of key plot threads and created plot holes.
  • The complete series of TheMayhemTheory, a pivotal vlog in the Arknthology which told the story of Gabriel Holden and his transformation into an Arknza, was deleted in early 2017 by ThePremierArbitor for personal reasons.note  He later requested that the community wiki page about Gabriel Holden, and any images showing Gabriel or Raziel's face, be removed as well. In a strange twist, the wiki page, and most of the episodes, were later restored; the series creator has stated that the series itself is still canon (despite being incomplete), and that he might one day revisit Raziel/Gabriel's story.
  • A similar purge was carried out by the author of the Ambriel saga, who (for personal reasons) deleted Book of the Mothernote , The Golden Queen, Queen of Faith, and The Crossroads King.
  • Roughly a third of Michael's Camera is now missing, due to DeathlyLogic wanting to cross over the character Ellpagg with another vlog series of their creation (Welcome To Solstice), which necessitated another retcon. NightChase82, a former member of the Arkn creative team, has stated that she still has the original episodes, and (even though the Arknverse is no longer canon) intends to re-upload them when she has access to them
  • Arknthology Stories, a blog created by DeathlyLogic featuring short stories set in the Arknthology, was deleted for numerous reasons, including Creator Backlash and disagreements with other creators over various story elements (which DeathlyLogic stated took the enjoyment out of working on it). The blog was later re-created with some of the old chapters removed (and a few new ones added). The chapters of the original blog were thankfully preserved on DeathlyLogic's Tumblr, until it was deleted in late 2018 (though this time, copies of the existing chapters were preserved).
  • Three early installments of Solar's Crimson — one in which Xerex possesses Michaelis and reveals his M.O., another that has Xerex posing as Michaelis to take over his vlog, and a third in which Michaelis's timeline begins undergoing its apocalypse — were deleted, because the DeathlyLogic was displeased with the quality of his acting and wanted to "tweak" the plot of the series. (Interestingly, while the episodes themselves are not considered canon, the information revealed about Xerex in the videos is, and a GIF taken from one of them is used as the header image for Xerex's wiki page.) Two other episodes — the Season 1 epilogue video, and the original Season 2 premier — were also deleted after the series was initially cancelled.
  • The MedBoy789 video "Poking At A Lion" (in which Raphael meets with Asmodeus, a Gilgamesh-possessed Ellpagg, and The Carver in a hotel room) was unlisted nearly a year after it was uploaded; FeralWasteland was displeased with his acting and his character's behavior (both of which he felt were "forced") in the episode.
    • The episodes that make up the "Logs of Tobit" arc were removed in early 2022, along with a few episodes featuring DeathlyLogic (the latter mainly for personal reasons).
  • The vlog series MyDarkestSecret (which, together with RileySturza, formed the Hybrid Anthology) was deleted the same year, for unknown reasons.
  • In the spring of 2019, the YouTube channel hosting The Knight Shift (and its related content) was taken down due to copyright strikes by an outside party. While the episodes are still viewable on the Arknthology playlists, DeathlyLogic has decided not to re-upload the rest of the content related to the series, as they prefer to move on and focus on other projects.
  • The channel hosting Solar's Crimson was taken down (also by DL) a short time later, for the same reasons. (However, like The Knight Shift, the episodes can still be viewed on the Arknthology Act III playlist.)
  • l3rkingwond3rland was removed by its creator around the same time as Solar's Crimson. The creator has stated that the series gives them "bad memories" of that time, and that they would prefer to distance themself from it.
  • NoMoreLights, the first ever Arkn Mythos series, was deleted in April 2019. The creator has stated that he wishes to "move on" and work on other projects.

Arkn: Legacy (Universe X)

  • The original blog for Malachi X was deleted — and the accompanying videos unlisted — after DeathlyLogic decided to make the series undergo a Time Skip (so that the series could focus on a cocky, confident Malachi working magic and recounting tales of his exploits, rather than an amnesiac Risen bumbling around trying to re-discover his identity). DL eventually decided to eliminate the vlog portion of the series — and then the series as a whole — as they didn't want to be the "face" of Legacy.
  • All of the existing content in Arkn: Legacy was deleted and retooled in August 2018, in light of the upcoming Continuity Reboot (though some of it has been saved through Tumblr reblogs). Among the casualties were the blogs Failure To Launch and Astronaut On The Wrong Moon, and the animated comic series The Voice of Deepwaters, which were stricken from canon.
