** Done realistically with Minoru and his past as a gymnast: when he joins the Second Karate Club his body is already exceptionally conditioned in a well-balanced way, as needed of a gymnast, and it also gave him great agility and a formidable grip on the mat, allowing him to pull effectively acrobatic moves that would otherwise be utterly ineffective and making him almost impossible to ruin his balance even when he's on the toe of a single foot.

While Saenchai did have money problems in real life, he’s an affable and humorous person unlike his portrayal in the manga.

** Haruka's use of Taekwondo - a martial art with a very high focus on kicking - while wearing a miniskirt leads to Panty Shots galore. In the same scene, she also makes sure to remove her high-heeled boots before she starts kicking: high heels are not easy to balance on in real life.
** Yuuya Morisawa, the MMA club captain, makes a big deal of the advantages his versatile fighting style gives over purebred karateka... But he's at most a hobbyist, so when he fights Ibuki, who has been fighting at an elite level in a full contact Karate style, he goes down with one front kick.
** Club summer camps that features TrainingFromHell allows to improve the club members' skills... But if too harsh the club risks losing members. The Second Karate Club's included kumite (that is, sparring) every single day and at the end of it Minami mentions this is the first time they don't lose at least one member (and it was a close thing, as Hayama had initially decided to quit as soon as they were back in Tokyo before Rika helped him improve his skills), and the Ninjutsu Club's included "earth escape" and "water escape" training (that is, in the former the members were BuriedAlive with only a tube to breath until they got out and in the latter they had to stay underwater breathing from a straw and get out without being noticed by the captain) and got quit by every single member but the captain.
** School clubs are an expense for the school's budget and need at least one room to use, so they need a minimum number of members (three at Reinan, including the captain) or will being disbanded. The Second Karate Club is a minor club that starts out with five members, two of which being recently recruited, and Minami, as the captain, goes out of his way to get Minoru and Pedro to join to not have it disbanded, and when the Ninjutsu Club was reduced to its captain said member became desperate to recruit more members before the two weeks grace period expired and the Hyakubukai reclaimed the clubroom, even .
** Kaburagi Karate's focus of punching people in the face is considered to be a very unorthodox tactic both in-universe and in reality. Minami explains to Minoru that the bones in human hands are much thinner than the bones making up the skull, the result being that if you were to punch someone in the head without wearing any kind of protective glove, you'd be more likely to injure your hand than your opponent. Subsequently, Kaburagi Ryu punches aim to cause nosebleeds and cuts above the eyes, rather than knock someone out.
*** This is why at the Kaburagi-ryu national tournament Bertrand initially refuses to use his fists, as not only his punches have (literally) bone-breaking power, this is the first time he fights with no gloves and thus his hands are even less protected than the Kaburagi-ryu karatekas, who have at least some training to reinforce them.
** Mutou's early fights with the Judo Club and Minoru's with the Kendo Club were awesome and served to establish them as badasses... But also got a lot of ill will against the Second Karate Club from two of the five clubs on the Hyakubukai board, that controls the various martial arts clubs at Reinan. Thus the moment Kaburagi Ryu is shut down for tax evasion they immediately take the chance and disband the Second Karate Club on the grounds it was affiliated with Kaburagi Ryu and now can't compete anymore in tournaments.
** In RealLife, Nak Muays can turn pro in their early teens (if not earlier), and can take more fights in a year than fighters from other parts of the world. In the manga, this translates to them often having far more fighting experience than foreigners of similar age.
** Ninjas may be cool in fiction... But no modern parent would want their children going around and actually learning Ninjutsu, feeling it idiotical. The father of Akiko and Hiroshi Takakura gets on his own father's case for doing just that, and once she's in college age Akiko agrees... And considers her brother Hiroshi, AKA Kasumi Saizou, an idiot for still going on with that (and considering the next entry...).
** During the Shiryuu-kan's tournament, Saizou and follows that up by [[spoiler:delivering a full body punch in his opponent's nuts]]. He's disqualified on the spot, and Tachibana is barely able to keep the team match going by holding the two single matches hostage.
** Perspective Kaburagi-ryu association member Ushio Ippei is quite strong, naturally talented and has some street fighting experience... But as street fights end in just a few blows his stamina is far poorer than an athlete trained for relatively long fights, and his defense and resistance to hits are non-existing compared to that of a full-contact Karate practitioner. When going against Takenaka, the weakest of the long term association members, he wails on him for three minutes before tiring, at which point Takenaka, whose stamina, defensive techniques and ability to take a hit allow him to still be relatively fresh, drops him with two hits.
** After suffering multiple head blows, three knock downs and a KO in his fight with , Minoru is forced to stay completely at rest for over a month before he's even allowed to resume roadwork. Even then, he still suffers from headaches.
** During the GENESIS Tournament, Temur Shirato, the favorite, suffers a surprising amount of damage in the second round of the first match with Minami, including a head wound that nearly made him lose by TKO due heavy bleeding and some serious leg injuries. As this is just the first match and he has previous and more important committments in short order, his trainer throws the towel to protect him.
** To pass GENESIS' 70 kilos weight limit, the 95 kilos Jun Tabuse dehydrated and even bled himself to drop 25 kilos in two months, and in the single day between the weigh-in and the tournament he pigged himself out and got back to 85. While he has the size advantage against his opponents and swiftly overpowers his first opponent, his stamina is destroyed due a lack of blood, and in some moments he even risks collapsing due to it.
** As a young boy, Izumi was a clumsy yet formidable fighter whose teacher, Kaburagi Juzou, was extremely skilled at finding the weaknesses of an opponent. To move out of his shadow Izumi moved to the Koudan Kaikan's headquarter and started fighting in kickboxing matches with different trainers... And found he had grown too reliant on Kaburagi's directions.
** As the head of the Koudan Kaikan, Izumi finds in Satomi Daichi a fighter similar to how he had been as a youth, clumsy yet talented... And trained him to have overwhelming strength, as his own experience made him doubt of Kaburagi's trickery and make sure that if his ability to disrupt the opponents' rhythm was overcome he'd still have something to fall on.
** When Daichi fights Minami, the latter is being coached by a disguised . Izumi, , recognizes him immediately purely by his coaching style and , and the only reason he briefly doubts his findings is that [[spoiler:Kaburagi was supposed to be dead]].
