For whatever reason, very intelligent people in fiction are incapable of summarizing anything. No matter what you ask them, you'll get exactly what you asked for, with way more detail than is necessary. No robot will ever say "it's pretty darned likely" or even "about one in 8000 that you'll fail"; they say "There is a 99.9875653 percent chance of success".

* Subverted in Film/DontLookUp: When Kate offhandedly says how much time is left until the asteroid hits down to the exact second, Dr. Mindy openly wonders how she can state that so confidentially. At which point she replies that when they did the calculations a few days prior, she put in the predicted impact time into a diet-tracking app on her phone.
--> "I put the moment of impact on a diet app. So impact is when my diet ends. Only I’m not on a diet, I’m just crying five times a day."

* In Anime/HellsingUltimate the BadassBoast of the paladins from the 13th Division takes a turn to bathos when they proclaim their readiness to descend into Hell itself to battle its 7 405 926 demons. And they all say it in unison, so they didn't just make up the number on the spot - that's how they memorised their creed.

Sounds like, but is (usually) unrelated to, ImprobableAimingSkillsThe few times that they are related are when the mass, force, and trajectory of a missile are explicitly and precisely calculated. AndNinetyNineCents is a trope that plays with this one. Compare to YourDaysAreNumbered and the NonNaturalNumberGag. Not to be confused with UnnecessaryTimePrecision.

For example, she tells us exactly how many lights are on in London on December 21st, many neck pillows are on the flight, how long the wedding/memorial lasts down to the second, what percentage of guests are crying, and so on.

In this comic, Norby declares that they're exactly thirty stories in the air. The added precision is unnecessary, as the characters are worried about falling. Being off by one or two stories isn't going to matter much.

** The special pages definitely qualify, saying the exact number of bytes and articles everything has (especially under "High use pages"). Really any wiki that has these special pages could qualify, but Wikipedia is the biggest of them all, and would be the most extreme example by default.
