The Book of the Chosen
is an epic fantasy adventure.
The story follows three characters: Cal, Ren, and Sara who each have their own, separate plots.
The story is published on Royal Road. The first chapter was released on 4/16/2023.
The Book of the Chosen contains examples of:
- Apocalypse Cult: The Black Hand, also known as the Brothers, form a cult dedicated to Death.
- Author Avatar: Interlude I - A Beginning features a character named "The Scribe." The pen name of the author is The Scribe.
- Exotic Eye Designs: The fortuneteller Ren meets has "eyes the color of gold candles."
- High Fantasy: The story contains relics of a lost era, many with esoteric powers. There is a loosely defined magic system. The three disparate plots will seemingly converge into one final plot.
- Jigsaw Puzzle Plot: A product of Four Lines, All Waiting. The seemingly disparate plots will most likely come together.
- Last Stand: The Blacksmith dies after killing a group of the Black Hand to protect Cal.
- Maternal Death? Blame the Child!: Applies to Ren. His mother died during his birth and his village subsequently notes him as marked by death.
- Mithril: Nightsteel is a relic from ages past, known to be good for making weapons. it has a silvery sheen.
