"Suddenly, two 3D animated figures materialized out of thin air. One of them resembled a young, Native American woman in her 20's. The other resembled a knight in shining armour from the 1500's. Both characters stood about 30 feet tall. Just then, a booming voice resounded from the UFO: Well, well! If it isn't the Sky Fighters, and their Houndy Crunchers cohorts! Your pathetic attempts to stop me from taking over this planet are all in vain! Now come forth and bow to your new masters; two of my strongest henchmen! MU-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!"
Ross Eberle, Sky Fighters and Houndy Crunchers

Sky Fighters is a self-published science-fiction adventure book series, written by Ross Eberle and released through Amazon-based print-on-demand platform Kindle Direct Publishing. The book series follows an American boy named Muggins and his mother, both of them low-income and trying to save money on dented cans at the grocery store, when they encounter an alien race known as the "Sky Fighters and Houndy Crunchers", large anthropomorphic beings who fight evil "Python Demons".

The series began in 2014 and consists of 8 books.

This series provides examples of:

  • Action Mom: Muggins's badass mom, otherwise known as "Queen Crunchazora". She's pretty awesome.
  • Affectionate Nickname: "Muggins" is meant to be an endearing nickname given to the protagonist by his mother. Also British-English slang for a stupid or imbecilic person, so maybe it's all relative.
  • Alien Animals: The "Houndy Crunchers" are giant anthropomorphic animals.
  • Author Avatar: Ross Eberle as "Muggins".
  • Big Bad: The Python Demons.
  • Fan Disservice: Most of the romantic scenes in the series are clumsy and by no means a turn-on.
  • I'm a Humanitarian: Believe it or not, there is cannibalism among the characters in this book series.
  • I Have Many Names: Most of the major supporting characters and the main character have multiple different names to the point where it becomes confusing.
  • Magical Girl Warrior: Michelle.
  • Magical Native American: One of the Sky Fighters transforms into a giant Native American woman early-on in the first book of the series.
  • Parent-Child Team: Muggins and his mom, which is an author self-insert by Eberle.
  • Patriotic Fervor: Constant pro-American references, pro-Democratic Party content and multiple references to the September 11th Attacks.
  • Working-Class Hero: Muggins. Goes from a simpleminded boy buying discounted, dented soup cans with his mother to a demon-fighting hero who stands for justice and freedom.
