Naughty Boy

- Christmas Special: Most of the story takes place on or around certain Christmases.
- Jerkass: Santa views Jermaine as such because of some of his past actions, which is why the jolly old elf places Jermaine on the Permanent Naughty List.
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Santa gives one to Jermaine after the child asks Santa about being given a lump of coal.Santa: Jermaine Deon Carter, you have left me no other choice. You are so rotten, so despicable, and so naughty, I placed you on the Permanent. Naughty. List.
- Santa Claus: He drops by Jermaine's house to personally deliver a lump of coal to him.
- Shout-Out: Santa's above-mentioned dialogue when he tells Jermaine he's putting him on the Permanent Naughty List is word-for-word the same as Santa saying the same thing to Princess Morbucks during Twas the Fight Before Christmas.
- Very Loosely Based on a True Story: All of Jermaine's questionable actions in the story actually happened in Real Life. Him receiving fewer Christmas gifts each year and meeting Santa are fabrications.
