An alternative universe eeriely similar to our own real world.note

”I stood up and walked to the lunch room to meet up with my… friends. Yeah, let’s call them friends. I think I’m starting to get a bit more attached to them…”
Matt Brown

Light Realm: The Creation is a novel with fantasy and sci-fi elements, the story takes place in the alternate far future in 2.000.000.000 where pretty much every thing you can think of has already been made. When Matt, a law worker goes to a meeting from an unexpected call from his boss, they find out the end of the world is gonna happen from an anomaly that is consuming the universe.

The first 3 chapters can be read for free here and the full book can be bought digitally and physically here

'Light Realm: The Creation'' provides examples of:

  • Ambiguously Gay: Near the end, Arthur shows a strange sense of admiration towards Matt and only him for his talent. He also makes him effectively his most important Soldier, and doesn't mind that Matt just hit him with a brick.
  • And I Must Scream: The story of Chapter 6. Arthur is cursed with pseudo-immortality and people are drained of their life, turned into fuel for the Ultimate Artifact, which powers Arthur. Additionally, Arthur loses his pet.
  • And Now for Someone Completely Different: The story changes perspective between the 5 main characters. To compare, Matt often has snark in his inner narration while Crystal has a bizarre way to narrate the story.
  • Author Appeal: Several skunks appear in the story, Arthur even keeps one as a pet.
  • Ax-Crazy: Arthur's inventor.
  • Cannot Talk to Women: Downplayed. Matt will instantly go pale, blush, go silent or even faint from the mere thought of being romantically close to Natalie. However, he is perfectly fine talking to others such as Crystal.
  • Childhood Friends: Matt and Natalie knew each other since they studied in the academy.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Crystal and Dennis have the worse social skills out of the rest of the main cast, Justified as Monsters have worse social skills due to being animals. Crystal even invokes the trope by name herself.
Crystal: You think a cloudcuckoolander like me wouldn’t notice that?
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: Mentions of riding Crystal, Matt's mom also mentions how big she is.
  • Evil Brit: Presumably due to absorbing his ax-crazy mad scientist inventor, Arthur starts showing signs of unhelpfulness once things start going downhill.
  • Fantastic Racism: Apparently, calling a monster a furry is offensive.
  • Flashback: Chapter 6 takes place around a billion years ago when Arthur was created.
  • Furry Reminder: Dennis' mom licks his face as motherly love, and monsters ocassionally wag their tails when happy or excited, when for the most part monsters don't show animal traits.
  • Muscles Are Meaningless: Crystal isn't very muscular, but she's strong enough to easily break glass and end up uninjured, or carry the others in either her arms or her back.
  • Must Have Caffeine: Matt is obsessed with coffee, to the point of having a cup in his character artwork and even having a brown coat.
  • N-Word Privileges: Played for laughs when Matt is frustrated over the abundance of monsters on TV and calls them "furries", Dennis is having none of it.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: Inverted and Downplayed. Arthur is a king but the story takes place long after his reign, and he is no longer necessary. He eventually starts doing something but ends up using other characters as his pawns.
  • Parental Issues: Matt and Natalie suffer from this, albeit in different ways.
  • Plant Person: Terrans are anthropomorphic plant people.
  • Pocket Dimension: Regularly Invoked. Everyone has a magical pocket dimension where they can store items, even if their magic skills are weak. This pocket dimension can even store building materials and furniture.
  • Shout-Out: One of Dennis' stated liked things is "Squad Building 2"
    • Matt also mentions how he solves "practical problems", Natalie points out how silly of a phrase it is and asks him where he stole it from, he says he took it from one of Dennis' online statuses.
    • One part has Dennis mention YIIK: A Post-Modern RPG.
    • The entire talents thing is probably based on Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc's Ultimate Talents.
      • And once Arthur creates Ace Talent, an Ace Attorney is possible.
  • Sweat Drop: Dennis has one in his artwork.
  • Token Human: Matt is the only human main character, and he's the protagonist.
  • Utopia: The world is perfect, but the main characters feel unsatisfied and the emptiness wants to ruin the world. Fun.
  • "Well Done, Son" Guy: Matt only became a Shielder and an Architect to follow his father's footsteps and hopefully get close to him, as his father had left to focus on work. The most he gets is some of his father's supportive words briefly after meeting up with him.
