How to Mutate and Take Over the World: An Exploded Post-Novel is a quasi-Cyberpunk political satire by St Jude Milhon and R. U. Sirius. Written in 1993, it covers a speculative future of the period from 1994 to the End of the World as We Know It in 2001.

Tropes appearing in the novel include:

  • Epistolary Novel: The bulk of the novel takes the form of email and forum messages, interspersed with news clippings and magazine articles.
  • Grey Goo: nanites from a dessert factory transforming the world into key lime pie. And this gets spoiled about a third of the way in, in a fictional review of the book.
  • Self-Insert: The authors are also the main characters.
  • Enemy Mine: Groups from both the far right and the far left join forces against technological change.
  • Strawman Political: several, most notably the Society for Human Dignity, and anti-technology group combining both the left and the right.
  • Uplifted Animal: 'Snoop Hoggy Hog', a genetically-engineered human/swine cross Talking Animal created as a pet, who fights for his civil rights in court.
