It is an alternate take on his previous glasses-focused piece Glasses Stories.

- Alternate History: A mild example. The story is basically what would happen if Jermaine both continued wearing glasses past fourth grade and let other people wear them all the time.
- Bespectacled Cutie: Invoked by every girl who wears Jermaine's glasses.
- Big Beautiful Woman: Brandi, Iris, and Shon, as in the original story.
- The Bully: "Glass Action Redux" is about bullies stealing and wearing Jermaine's glasses.
- Glasses Curiosity: As with Glasses Stories, Glasses Stories Redux heavily focuses on people wearing glasses that aren't theirs.
- Idiosyncratic Episode Naming: The title of each chapter ends in "redux."
- Role Swap AU: Jermaine takes the place of his bespectacled friends and classmates in "Glass Action Redux" and "Lens Shares Redux."
- Smart People Wear Glasses: Invoked by Myrna in "Lens Shares Redux." When she wears Jermaine's glasses, she says "I feel smart."
- Theme Naming: Both the title of the story and the title of each chapter end with "redux."
