This show provides examples of:

  • Charles Atlas Superpower: Rook. Prior to the series he spent years training with the masters and then five years in constant battle with an army of monsters. All the training and experience has given him the ability to defeat superpowered beings. However, he claims that he even smarter than he is strong, so he has Awesomeness by Analysis too.
  • Flying Brick: Emma: she has the stock superpowers: super strength, super speed, flight, invulnerability, super senses, and energy blasts.
  • Identity Amnesia: Brandy: At the beginning of the series she has no idea who she is or where she came from.
  • Quest for Identity: Throughout the series, there are side stories about Brandy's quest for her identity. So far she has not had much luck.
  • The Chosen One: Rook: In In a Beginning, when he is in the jail, he remembers being the chosen one. It is hinted that it did not go very well. Especially since he was later chained to a wall for five years and forced to fight in a never ending battle.
  • You All Meet in an Inn: The entire plot of the series is about people meeting in the restaurant.
