Infinity Train: Blossoming Trail

Most of the problems that happen in the story stem from people not knowing that their words and actions hurt others, or underestimating their impact.
  • Practically everyone Chloe encounters in the first chapter is guilty of this to some degree. Her classmates (barring Akemi) pressure her to fight off against Ash (even though she doesn't want to be near Ash at all), her Home Economics teacher reminds her how she doesn't participate in school clubs because of her father's research, Goh and Ash wanting Mr. Mime to cook lots of curry without realizing how important it was to her and Goh in the past, and Professor Cerise is proud that Chloe tried doing something with Pokémon, not realizing that it's making Chloe feel like more of an idiot for trying to fight Ash.
    • When the Ash vs Chloe battle gets revisited in Court of Cyclamen, Goh admits that he was only praising Ash's victory against Chloe and didn't realize how hurt Chloe was for losing until much later. If he had been more aware of this, he wouldn't have boasted about the battle to Professor Cerise. In Branching Paths, Goh only wanted to record Chloe's first battle since he wasn't going to see himself as a battler and was actually congradulating her on taking her first step into liking Pokémon. Voyage of Wisteria also clarifies that the More Insulting than Intended phrase ("Chasing my dreams which is something you lack!") wasn't calling out how Chloe was less important than him; it was him trying to motivate Chloe to find a dream and how he would support her.
  • When Goh explains Gengar's backstory of being abandoned, Chloe remarks in her mind that she was also abandoned by Goh.
  • In Chapter 5, Goh tears into Chloe's classmates for never considering her feelings and that they share the blame for causing Chloe to run away. However, those classmates quickly point out that since Chloe was a quiet loner that shrugged off interacting with most of them, Goh is more to blame since he actually was Chloe's friend and had just as many (if not more) chances to notice Chloe's problems.
  • Goh's desperation to get Chloe back works against him due to this, as he's so focused on how he feels that he NEEDS to get her back that he glosses over her feelings on the matter.
  • Subverted with Lexi. After Chloe says that her little horror story is something she does to pass the time, he remarks that there are other things she can be doing...before recalling her Friendless Background. He quickly mutters, "Oh, right" in response.
  • Chloe accidentally traumatizes Atticus when she brings up the malasadas they'll try in Chapter 13 won't have grape jelly in them (since dogs can't eat grapes). Unfortunately, Atticus is instead reminded of the grape puddle jelly in the Unfinished Car as he's concerned about what happened to King Aloysius, fearing that the Apex raided his car. Thankfully this is resolved because Atticus understands that Chloe wouldn't have understand why he would've reacted to this.
  • Somewhat Played for Laughs with Parker not comprehending how it's not always appropriate to share creepy stories. A couple of meals and other meet-ups get derailed by storytime.
  • In Prelude to Arc 2, Leon gushes over how Ash could be a potential Worthy Opponent to his little brother Hop...who is reeling from losing to Bede and the Breaking Speech he gave. This is the tipping point that gets Hop on the Infinity Train.
  • Throughout Goh's Epiphany Therapy in Chapter 21, he's unable to understand his actions every time he is running a scenario of the day Chloe ran away from home. It's so bad that he doesn't feel like there isn't any other way to calm Chloe down and make her stay. In contrast, all Zeno has to do is just apologize and admit that he made such bone-headed mistakes.
