The dog from "Wild Things" actually recovers from its defiance, and Abe makes good on his promise to have it returned to its owner. All the more touching in that it was the last surviving dog in the entire city, whose owner had held off having to shoot it for days, unable to bear the thought of putting down his beloved pet.
Even if it's actually a serval, the "leopard cub" is very cute. Mitch shows it a kindness he seldom displays to humans, letting it teethe on a piece of rubber to dislodge one of its baby teeth rather than forcibly extract one for its pulp.
