As bad as the story as a whole is, please tell me I wasn't the only one who actually felt some stir of emotion when Lettuce saved Pudding from that vampire maniac.
In chapter 39, Mint wanders away from the others for a bit while memories come flooding to her. She ends up at a temple in the mountains, and as she's sitting by a tree, she hears her deceased younger brother's voice. He proceeds to tell her that it wasn't her fault that he died, and that she's had the magic to help everyone all along. He also tells her that she's not alone and that she has friends now who love her, and that he's proud to call her his big sister. The scene ends with him giving her a hug and her swearing that, even though he's a ghost, she could feel it.
