"Because we work. We shouldn't, but we do."

  • The Addams family in general, as is common for all of their media. Even in the midst of intense turmoil or trauma, it’s clear all of them care for each other and their friends very much.
  • From their very first meeting, Enid respects Wednesday's personal boundaries, immediately saying "Not a hugger" when she sees Wednesday step back when approached. And Enid never pressures or shames Wednesday for those boundaries either, which shows just how respectful and considerate Enid is.
  • Enid and Thing develop a fast Odd Friendship. One of the reasons Enid is willing to let Wednesday stay in her room after Wednesday made a deal to move out is because Thing gives good neck massages. Soon, Enid and Thing are giving each other manicures and opening up to one another and Enid convinces Wednesday to apologize to Thing for lashing out at him.
    • When they first meet as well, Enid finds him odd at first as Thing is just a self-sufficient disembodied hand, but is quick to not instantly be weirded out or scared of him despite that. They even end the series promising to stay in touch and exchange moisturizing tips.
    • In the final episode, Thing holding Enid's hand as she comes down from her werewolf transformation.
  • Wednesday being protective of Pugsley and siccing piranhas on his bullies.
  • Wednesday opens up about the last time she cried in the first episode, because Enid was upset at her inability to 'wolf out'.
  • One during Wednesday's unusual dancing in episode 4. Nobody watching finds it weird or off-putting, and in fact they smile and start dancing too. The first time all the outcasts at Nevermore find legit unity all around and not just in their specific cliques.
  • This exchange between Wednesday and Enid right before she goes to meet Ajax—also Funny:
    Enid: Wish me luck!
Wednesday: If he breaks your heart, I'll nail gun his.
  • Wednesday and Enid briefly commiserate with each other about each not looking forward to their parents' visits, taking a brief moment to stand side by side and share their feelings of dread with the other. When the time comes, Enid says they should "get this over with" while exchanging one more look and then going their separate ways.
  • Ajax admits the truth about why he didn't meet Enid the night of their date—he accidentally stoned himself—and she forgives him for it.
  • After staying silent the whole visit, Enid's father hugs his daughter and tells her he's proud that she stood up for herself to her browbeating mother.
  • While Gomez is being held for murder, Wednesday visits him to hear his version of events and Gomez apologizes for not being the best father. Wednesday gives a list of the ways he had taught her to be independent and strong, summarizing his child-rearing efforts with the typically stoic evaluation of "more than adequate". Gomez is visibly touched.
  • The genuine smile of happiness and excitement Wednesday has when Uncle Fester shows up. It's one of the few times we see her happy earnestly, as opposed to the sardonic smirks she sometimes shows.
  • Lucas going from generic anti-supernatural bully to a friend of Wednesday and her gang is a nice arc.
  • When Wednesday visits Eugene in the hospital, his mothers thank her for being his first friend. Wednesday also brings a jar of honey harvested from one of the bee hives.
    • She later revisits him in hospital on her birthday, and although he is still in a coma, sits and talks to him about everything that's been going on recently.
    • Wednesday's "one final request" to Weems is indeed to see Eugene now that he's woken up.
  • Enid going back to their dorm with the flimsy excuse of forgetting her things, having visited 3 times in 24 hours.
    • Wednesday telling Enid that Thing missed her when she returns. It's clear that Wednesday is actually saying that she missed Enid in her own way. It gets better when Enid sees through the act and plays along, saying that she missed Thing too.
  • Enid decides to move back in with Wednesday after temporarily going to stay with Yoko, since she realized the two of them bonded way more than she thought they did and that their dynamic actually works perfectly for both of them.
Enid: Because we work. We shouldn't, but we do.
  • Enid also moves back due to Thing's attack, expressing that she wants to stay and protect the both of them.
Enid: Someone’s gotta look out for you two.
  • After turning back to human, Enid reunited with Ajax with a hug.
  • In the final episode, when Enid sees that Wednesday is okay, she rushes over to Wednesday, which leads to them finally hugging (as seen in the page image). Even sweeter, the normally stoic Wednesday is clearly just as relieved to see Enid, as after Wednesday initially pushes her away due to force of habit, she sees Enid tearing up out of relief that her best friend is all right and then pulls her back in for an even tighter hug immediately after. The hug isn't just her playing along for Enid's sake, Wednesday is clearly having a realization that both of them need this. She goes so far as to rest her head on Enid's shoulder, closing her eyes and almost crying out of the same relief that her bestie is safe and sound.
  • Xavier gifts Wednesday a smart phone as a thank you for helping clear his name. Despite her distaste for modern technology, she accepts the gift and is shown using it later.
  • Wednesday and Enid in Weems's now empty office, with each expressing how much they thought she was admired and respected.
  • Enid telling Wednesday that while they're off for the semester that she should come by and visit her in San Francisco at some point. Wednesday expresses that she's definitely interested in the idea.
  • Thing is able to recover from a devastating injury, much to Fester and Wednesday's relief. Wednesday is tearing up at her close companion's revival, and pinky promises she'll make whoever is responsible suffer.
  • When Thing rushes into the room to get her help with saving Wednesday, Enid drops everything (including making out with Ajax) to help save her friend. The most heartwarming part is that she does it without a second thought.
  • Despite Xavier being mad at Wednesday for getting him arrested and accusing him of murder, he comes to her rescue in the first season’s finale. She in turn takes an arrow in the shoulder for him when Crackstone redirects the arrow at him.
  • Wednesday standing up for Eugene when he's bullied at Pilgrim World and then helping him get cleaned up, because he reminds her of Pugsley.
  • Wednesday comforts Pugsley after their father is arrested. She cheers him up by bringing his fishing gear (IE grenades) while sitting at a pond. She then tells her brother that until their dad is freed, they have to be strong especially for their mother.
  • In a flashback, when a young Morticia accidentally kills Garrett Gates, Gomez doesn't hesitate to take the murder weapon from Morticia, telling her to go to her room in order to pretend that she wasn't there, and the blame for the murder. It goes to show that even as a teenager, Gomez would do anything for his One True Love.
  • When Wednesday is kicked out, Enid and her say goodbye, with both saying that they will never forget each other. Wednesday even says that the mark Enid left on her is unmatched.
"Enid, the mark you have left on me is indelible. Anytime I grow nauseous at the sight of a rainbow or hear a pop song that makes my ears bleed, I’ll think of you."
  • Gomez Addams's yearbook quote.
I loved her not for the way she danced with my angels, but for the way she would silence my demons - me, when describing the love of my life, Morticia.
