  • From the first episode, Norville helping Velma through her nightmarish hallucinations by confessing his true feelings for her, causing her to calm down from laughing at his confession. Sure, it's sad to see Velma not returning his feelings, but still, the fact that he was willing to put his heart on the line to help his friend through her personal issues was pretty nice, making Norville breaking off their friendship in episode 9 even harsher.
  • Velma and Daphne bonding in "The Candy Man" and Daphne kissing Velma to help stop her hallucinations.
  • Velma and Daphne apologizing to one another at the end of "Velma Kai".
  • In "The Sins of the Fathers and Some of the Mothers", Velma and her father Aman reconnecting in a montage set to "Greatest Love of All".
  • After Daphne realizes the truth about her biological parents and they get arrested, her adopted moms reveal that they knew the whole time that she was looking for them and followed her to keep an eye on her and reveal that they took her from her parents in order to give her a better life.
  • Velma and Daphne apologizing to one another in "Fog Fest".
  • Velma finally reuniting with her mother Diya in "A Velma in the Woods".
  • Velma and Daphne kissing in the finale just when the killer prepares to finish them off.
  • Over the course of the series, Fred warms up to Velma and grows to regard her as a real friend, and also comes to enjoy participating in investigating the mystery. So the potential for developing into the franchise's familiar Fred Jones is there.
  • A subtle one in the sequel: Everyone, even the painfully bigoted Merle Cogburn, refers to Amber with the proper pronouns.
