  • The end of the 3rd Episode of the Second Stage "Blossoming Path" has several bittersweet ones. Bart ultimately is unable to see the terminally ill Shirley before she passes during the battle, but he chooses to honor her memory by shaving his head to match her unfinished doll she had made of him, moving forward with a new resolve. On the other end, Parfet has only managed to create a small version of the device she had hoped would be able to clean the diseased planet and help the people who live there, much to her own feeling of disappointment. However, the village elder assures her that she and her friends have done more than enough, since this tiny space ensures a safe sanctuary for mothers to give birth without risk of being automatically infected by the diseased atmosphere. As such, their children will be able to grow up without the horrible disease that afflicts all of the current generation, giving them hope for a better future for the first time in their lives.
  • More subtle examples than usual, but normally Vandread Dita and Super Vandread has Hibiki and Dita both holding their hands over an orb control... thing. At the end of season 1, before doing something awesome, their hands both squeeze tight on the orb, together. At the end of season 2, their hands are off the orb entirely, instead clasped together.
  • The Captain's only condition to allowing Buzam/BC back into the crew: "Do something about that voice, will ya?"
  • In the second season, the crew finally has enough of the Cannot Spit It Out situation between Dita and Hibiki, deciding to resolve the newest Not What It Looks Like by locking the two in the briefing room until they make up. Hibiki finally starts stuttering an Anguished Declaration of Love while the crew is watching eagerly... and gets interrupted by the scramble alert just as he says the first half of the word "love". She doesn't return the favor up until the last episode where she says it all the way. Still, her request of him saying her name properly one more time seemingly goes unanswered... then he calls after her to accompany him for his journey to Tarak. Seeing that he's going there as a role model of a man living with women (and the aforementioned almost-confession), it's quite why he asks in the first place.
  • At the end of the final episode, as the shuttle is preparing to leave, Misty drags Dita up to Hibiki, insisting that Dita has "a favor" to ask of Hibiki. What Dita wants is for Hibiki to call her "Dita" again, like he did when she came to his aid against the Big Bad. Hibiki develops a Luminescent Blush, gets flustered, and turns her down flat, telling her he can't do that "for no reason." Hibiki trudges up the gangplank to the shuttle. Dita turns away with tears in her eyes, and suddenly Hibiki shouts, "Dita!" Dita stops, turns around, and there's Hibiki grinning, with his hand outstretched toward her. "Come on!", he shouts. Dita blinks away her tears, shouts back "Yes!", and runs up the ramp to join Hibiki, jumping the final distance to grasp Hibiki's hand as the first opening song, Trust, swells and the credits roll.
