While Takafumi takes in Uncle initially only because he can do magic, the two grow closer together and enjoy each other’s company, even going to see a movie together.
Takafumi remembers Fujimiya from his school days. Though she was an ugly child and a bully, he holds her in high regard and is pleased to see her again.
The same goes for Fujimiya’s brother Chiaki. While Takafumi originally mistakes him for a punk making advances on Fujimiya, once the misunderstanding clears up the two are best buds.
Uncle giving Elf-san and Mabel a ring to assist them with their debts. One gets blackmailed by a loan shark to get it back and the other would rather endure penury rather than give it up (and considering how lazy she is, this means something).
Elf-san’s classic Tsundere behaviour, which shows how much she cares for Uncle despite all the trouble he gives her:
Whenever Uncle does something good for Elf-san that validates her feelings/deeds for him:
Their first encounter was a classic Rescue Romance: he saved her from a dragon, and gave her his jacket to cover her naked body.
Later on, he says he just wanted to save her. He had no reward or ulterior motive in mind.
Uncle and Elf share their close personal names.
Mabel traps Uncle in ice and tries to assassinate him for taking away her job… only she has no killing intent, because she’s happy to see Uncle again.
When Mabel tries to retell the tale of the founder of the Frost Clan, Elf-san in her rashness screws up everything by summing up the whole thing much to Mabel's dismay who thinks that was the only thing she could do well. Elf-san realizes immediately how badly she hurt Mabel's feelings and try to comfort her.
Later on, Uncle discovers Mabel has a wonderful singing voice, and he teaches her a few songs. Sega songs, but she sings them nicely and he enjoys them.
Alicia is the nicest girl Uncle has met and has given him the least trouble.
Uncle allows Alicia to be rewarded and renowned for heroic deeds Uncle had actually done. While part of this is because he wants to keep a low profile, it’s also a sign of him trusting her party.
When Alicia’s friends Raiga and Edgar try to give Uncle his share of the rewards from a shared mission, he refuses, saying he can trust them not to cheat him.
When Uncle, Elf-san and Alicia’s party stay at an inn, the innkeeper’s family, specifically his daughter Nenia, is initially frightened of Uncle, but they eventually warm up to him.
A Christmas story has Uncle conjure up a reindeer and sleigh for Elf-san to go on a ride through the snow. Also doubles as a Funny Moment as he is the reindeer.
