First movie

  • The Trolls trying to help Bridget impress Gristle.
    • And when they are having some trouble it's Branch who saves the date by reciting some beautiful poetry. The real sweetness is the implication that the poetry he told Bridget to say to Gristle Jr. was what he wanted to say to Poppy.
"Your eyes - they’re like two pools so deep I fear that if I dive in, I might never come up for air. And your smile - the sun itself turns jealous and refuses to come out from behind the clouds, knowing it cannot shine as bright…"
  • The Bergens giving up eating Trolls and becoming happy when they dance along with the Trolls.
  • The first thing Branch does when Poppy tells him about the Trolls being attacked by a Bergen (Chef)? He grabs and pulls her into his bunker.
  • During the flashback showing how Branch keeps alerting the trolls "the Bergens are coming", look at all the occasions he keeps disrupting: a birthday, a wedding, and a funeral. The same clown troll is in each and every one. And it's heartwarming for two reasons. One, he came to fall in love and marry his client. And two, despite that it's his own funeral, the dead clown troll apparently has a smile on his face. He died happy!
  • Poppy and her friends treated Branch like a hopeless downer who wasn't worth their time, but that changed after he revealed his tragic backstory. They finally show him the sympathy they never knew he needed, as symbolized by reciting some of the last lines of "Total Eclipse of the Heart".
  • Bridget decides to let all the Trolls out of the pot and escape, knowing she'll be punished at the feast for it.
  • Branch spends the movie insisting he doesn't sing, but he finally sings when Poppy needs it the most, during the Trolls' Darkest Hour after Poppy and the other Trolls have fallen into despair and lost their colors. Branch's singing restores Poppy's colors, and thus also inspires hope in the other Trolls again.
    • Just look at how surprised Poppy is when Branch sings "and that's why I love you..."
    • After singing "Don't be discouraged," Branch kneels down near Poppy and gently turns her face to him, as if to say, "Look at me. It's gonna be okay."
  • Despite Branch earlier crushing Poppy's invitation to her party, it's later revealed that he fixed the said invitation and has even kept the past invites she has given him over the years.
    • And Poppy continuing to invite Branch throughout the years, despite all his rejections, simply because she wants him to be happy.
  • At the end of the movie, Branch asks Poppy for a hug, despite having hated Hug Time the whole movie, and even expresses regret that it's not currently Hug Time because the bracelets aren't glowing. So the newly crowned queen Poppy officially declares that Hug Time is all the time, so she and Branch can hug.
  • Bridget, in her Lady Glittersparkles alias, has a great date with her long-time crush, Prince Gristle Jr. After years of thinking she's no better than a dirty scullery maid, seeing her finally being happy skating with him on the roller rink is satisfying. The number "They Don't Know" playing underneath enhances the sweetness.
  • While making camp for the night, Poppy reveals to keep a picture set of her friends.
  • King Gristle is overjoyed when The Chef returns with Trolls, but he personally refuses to eat one until every Bergen in Bergentown is able to have one as well. Bad for the Trolls, but he really is The Good King for his subjects.
