Heartwarming / The Remarried Empress

Go To

  • Before Rashta came along, Navier and Sovieshu actually had a healthy relationship when they were younger. They clearly cared about each other and wanted to be the best marriage partner they could be. It’s even implied Sovieshu actually lied about not giving cookies to Navier because he was afraid she wouldn't be able to marry him anymore.
  • The divorce turned remarriage itself. Heinrey gets to stick it to Sovieshu and finally be with the woman he’s fallen in love with, while Navier doesn't have to suffer the humiliation of being a former empress and can go be with someone who genuinely respects and cares for her. Special shout-out to High Priest Vimirey, who’s not pleased with the divorce, seems quite relieved when Heinrey comes along asking for a remarriage to her (not that he would say he was relieved to Heinrey's face), and interjects when Sovieshu tries to ban her from getting remarried.
  • Navier and Heinrey's relationship, which blooms gradually and is built on respect between the two rather than anything else. He understands her better than Sovieshu ever did, to the point that he gives up on invading the Eastern Empire because it would displease Navier. She, in turn, finally learns what it means to fall in love with someone, after being burned by Sovieshu.
    • Their wedding is a big highlight. It's utterly beautiful to see the two finally get together at last, and how affectionate the two become with one another afterwards.
  • All of Navier's interactions with Queen, Heinrey's bird form. He always appears to cheer her up whenever she's down and she's very fond of him, oftentimes being quite affectionate much to his bashfulness. Even after she learns the truth about Queen, she can't help but still coo over his bird form at times.
  • Despite the circumstances, Alan is a good father to Ian, and only wants what is best for Rashta and their children.
  • Although Navier originally befriended Lebetti as a warning to Rashta, she comes to genuinely care for the girl. When Rashta tried to humiliate her by making it seem as though she copied her dress, Navier stepped in to diffuse the situation.
    • Lebetti's admiration towards Navier is quite wholesome as well. When she heard of Navier's divorce, she was ready to avenge her. However, Navier advised her not to and instead, to focus on finding her own happiness.
  • Navier never gives up on Evely after she loses her mana and the hope that one day she will become a mage.
  • Kosair's first meeting with Heinrey is super sweet, as Heinrey immediately greets Kosair like a brother and treats him rather well, earning enough points to win over a man who adores his younger sister.
    • Kosair's move to the West also gives him the opportunity to turn his reputation around, becoming a popular knight to the masses.
  • A couple of Navier's ladies-in-waiting follow her to the West, proving their loyalty to their empress. And the ladies-in-waiting Navier gained in the West end up befriending the ladies from the East, forming a tight bond.
  • Ergy has the option to help Heinrey "escape" the Eastern Empire and leave Navier behind after the divorce. But after one meeting with her and perhaps sympathizing with her situation, Ergy can't bring himself to betray his childhood friend and his wife, so he breaks Sovieshu's trust in order to send the two newlyweds back to the West.
    • The reason why Duke Ergy decides to help Navier as well is because she asked him to help Rashta become a good empress, so the people of the Eastern Empire won't suffer. Despite leaving to become a queen of a foreign country, Navier is very concerned for the well-being of her subjects, former or not.
  • The reason for Duke Ergy's actions in the first place. While he wants revenge against the Eastern royal family for ruining his and his mother's lives, he also wants to give himself and his ailing mother a safe and prosperous life away from any drama.
