Heartwarming / The Jungle Book 2

Go To

  • During the beginning of the film, it's been revealed that following Mowgli's entrance to the Man Village after being lured in by Shanti, he told his story to the villagers about how he spend his life in the jungle, and the village leader, who has a wife named Messua and a son named Ranjan, took pity on this by willingly adopting Mowgli into his family.
  • Mowgli and Shanti exchanging cute, flirtatious remarks. This is one of those moments where they truly care for each other.
Shanti: Something was in my eye.
    Mowgli: Both of them?
Shanti: Well, you were so ugly you made my eyes water.
  • Shanti looking into Mowgli's eyes, flirting with him and saying goodnight to him.
    Shanti: Good night, Mowgli.
  • Hathi Jr. pointing Baloo the way to the man village, even claiming that he misses Mowgli too.
  • Mowgli and Shanti's reunion in the jungle. It's at this point they show how they missed each other's company.
Shanti: I can't believe I finally found you.
Mowgli: I never thought I'd see you again.
  • A minor one, but Bagheera telling Baloo to be careful, just before the latter heads to the temple to rescue Mowgli from Shere Khan.
    • This is actually poignant if you consider Baloo's fight with Shere Khan in the first film. Bagheera wasn't there, but arrived after the fight where it seemed that Baloo might've died. The way Bagheera suddenly shouts his friend's name just before Baloo enters the temple, shows that he really cares for the bear's safety.
  • Mowgli and Baloo having a proper goodbye, which also makes up for the end of the first movie, topped with Baloo convincing his friend to go after Shanti.
Mowgli: I'm gonna miss you, Papa Bear.
Baloo: Me too, Little Britches... (sniffles) Me too.
  • And for that matter, Mowgli reconciling with the village leader, who finally understands his adopted son's jungle roots.
Mowgli: I'm... sorry, sir. It's just that—
Village Leader: No, Mowgli... I'm sorry. I should've understood that the jungle is a part of who you are.
    (they embrace in a hug)
Village Leader: I'm just glad you're safe.
  • When Mowgli and Shanti go off on their regular visit to the jungle while carrying water jugs, Mowgli assures to the village leader that he and Shanti will be getting some water on the way back. Accepting his adopted son's jungle roots, the village leader allows Mowgli and Shanti to head off to the jungle while telling them to be careful.
Village Leader: All right.. but be careful, son.
Mowgli: Oh, I will. See ya, pop!
Village Leader: (chuckles to his wife Messua) Let's see if he remembers to actually bring back some water this time.
