The concept of this game is uniting the various heroes of the Star Ocean franchise spread through an intensive timeline, and having them interact together like friends and fighting for the common cause. No matter how it goes, it's always heartwarming. (Hell, you can also pretend that the infamous Plot Twist in Star Ocean: Till the End of Time never happened or you save the Till the End of Time cast right before the universe deletion really happened. They're just as real as the rest of the cast.)
Enhancing this is this particular scene during the Bridal event, where Rena, after fighting alongside both Nel and Maria, remarks that they, along with Evelysse and Coro, stick together because they're like a big family. Considering the implication is that you summoned all these Star Ocean heroes, that's like saying you're like a part of a big family consisting all of the Star Ocean heroes and then some.
The White Day event is really heartwarming. To wit: It's basically Claude trying to show his appreciation to his parents, Ronyx and Ilia, when they were at their prime. Both has no idea at first, but Ronyx quickly came to accept that Claude is his future son, and while Ilia was at first avoiding eye contact, when Claude gave her flowers to show his appreciation, Ilia quickly revealed that she was just at loss of words about what to say for her future son, and expressed how proud she is to her future son with Ronyx. A good day for the Kenny family!
Mavelle bumps into Dias and the two quickly bonded about how they were separated from their siblings. You even get a choice to take note if they would make a cute couple, not just because they have dark blue hairs.
The Black Tribe girl and Disposable Woman from Star Ocean: The Last Hope becomes a playable character and finally gets a name, Amina, seven years after her original debut. You can even put her on a team with Faize.
