"Well, there’s a first time for everything, right?"
"Look, bad things are gonna happen. It makes us who we are. But good things happen too, you know? Like you happened, and she happened."
Peter B. Parker

  • Miles' sketchbook is practically filled to the brim with drawings of Gwen. Even when he spray-paints a mural of all his Spider-friends, Gwen's faces are some of the most prominent. To say that he misses her would be an understatement.
  • Gwen has kept and maintained the partially shaved haircut Miles accidentally made her adopt. This is especially noteworthy given the montage of Gwen, Peter and her father around their dinner table where her hair changed frequently over the years.
  • It's not easy to see, but Gwen keeps her Spidey suit and her selfie with Miles in her drum alongside a gift from her mother.
  • Miles turning his "No Expectations" painting into a mural dedicated to the previous movie, with all of his Spider-Friends and Uncle Aaron featured prominently.
  • During a scene in Gwen's bedroom, a poster can be seen on the wall in the background with the transgender flag, reading "Protect Trans Kids". Becomes extra heartwarming by taking into account the hostility against trans youth in America in early 2023.
    • Additionally, during the scene discussing his grades, a Black Lives Matter sticker can be seen on Miles' notebook. While it's heartbreaking to see that, even in a world where superheroes exist, African-American lives are still devalued, especially by the police, it's a wonderful gesture by someone who certainly has been affected by it.
  • Before their relationship turned sour and cold, Jessica pleaded with Miguel to allow Gwen to join their group. This plea came after witnessing Gwen's father attempting to arrest her.
  • According to the script for the movie, when witnessing Gwen's distress about her situation, Miguel felt a touch of "fatherly instinct" for her, and it's part of why he gave in to accepting her into the Society. Too bad it didn't last for the whole movie, but it still deserves a mention that he briefly felt that way for her after having lost his own alternate daughter, and at the same moment that Gwen's actual father was failing her.
  • A subtle moment during Miles' school report session, where it's made clear that he desperately wants to attend Princeton University in order to study alternate dimensions and the science necessary to travel between them. Miles was so desperate to see Gwen and his friends again, he was apparently ready to base his entire academic career on achieving that goal.
  • Despite being aware that Aaron was the Prowler, Jefferson, during his speech, chooses to focus on the cherished memories he has of his brother and how much he misses him. He even highlights the mural that he and Miles created in Aaron's honor. Despite the truth about Aaron's actions, Jefferson's speech demonstrates his ability to separate the negative aspects from the positive memories he shared with his brother in the past.
  • When hearing from the school councelor that Miles has great grades in studio arts, Jeff comments that he "takes after his uncle". It then becomes a Funny moment when they also learn that Miles has missed several classes, which makes Jeff sigh and repeat "Takes after his uncle..."
  • While Lego Spider-Man was mostly played for laughs, Miguel genuinely thanks him for warning him about Spot briefly showing up in his dimension before addressing him as "one of [their] bests". Given how rude he is to those around him throughout the movie, it's really saying something when Miguel holds a good amount of respect for a toy of all things.
  • Rio's entire monologue about watching her baby boy grow up is one huge heartwarming moment, especially because she was mostly overshadowed by Jefferson and Aaron in the first movie. Here we get to see the relationship between the mother and the son.
Rio Morales: Wherever you go, you have to promise to take care of that little boy for me. Make sure he never forgets where he came from. And… he never doubts that he is loved. And he never lets anyone tell him he doesn't belong there.
  • After Miles gets yelled at by Miguel, an old friend of Miles' shows up.
Peter B. Parker: Hey, Miguel! C'mon, go easy on the kid! He had a terrible teacher. He had no chance.
    Miles: Peter!
(Miles runs up to Peter B. and they hug each other.)
    Peter B.: Miles!
    • In a blink and you'll miss it moment, Miles immediately cracks a smile as soon as he hears his voice before even turning around.
  • Pay attention to Pete B. after the two reunites and Miles is asking how he's been, Peter B. is checking Miles out and proudly nodding and smiling over how much Miles has grown.
  • Gwen and Miles's reunion. The first thing Gwen does when she drops in on Miles is hug him. Up till this point, these two were clearly missing one another, so getting to see them hang out, reconnect, and reaffirm their relationship is a joy.
    • Also, their talk on Williamsburg Bank Building is probably one of the most uniquely shot and intimate moments in the film. The web-slinging up to that point counts in a lot of ways too.
    • The script for the movie gives a little more insight on what the two of them were feeling at the clocktower. Apparently, they both felt "something between attraction and kinship", and that there is "an inevitability to them. They can feel it." They both "have each other's number" on how to make the other laugh or feel better about themselves, and lastly, Miles' comment, "There's a first time for everything, right?" already made Gwen feel that around him, everything seems possible, making her lean against him.
  • When talking on the water tower, Gwen has a moment of freaking out when Miles messes with her watch, but she quickly apologises. She then briefly plays with her hair and Miles glances at her lips while they move closer, giving the impression that the thought of kissing went through their minds before Rio interrupts them.
    • Also note that, despite the events before (to say nothing of the grounding they resulted in), Miles' parents let them have their moment before butting in.
    • When Rio first shows up on the water tower, she nearly trips but Miles immediately catches his mother.
  • Consider for a moment that by the time Gwen finally gets to visit Miles, she has spent four months in the Spider-Society, meeting hundreds of Peter Parkers and other Spider-People in general, meanwhile, she only knew Miles for a handful of days. Even with these odds, Miles made such an impression on her that she still remains smitten with him and calls him her "only friend" upon reuniting with him. Word of God would later confirm the two of them share a special connection.
  • Pavitr, also known as Spider-Man India, is depicted as a cheerful and beloved version of Spider-Man in his world. He shares a positive relationship with his aunt and girlfriend, which adds to his overall joyful nature. Despite feeling nervous around Inspector Singh, who happens to be Gayatri's father, Spider-Man earns Singh's respect to the extent that Singh gives him a firm handshake. This gesture of respect from Singh brings immense happiness to Gayatri, as she considers it one of the happiest moments she has ever witnessed from her father.
    • When the Alchemax building starts collapsing, Pavitr is visibly distraught, no doubt wondering how on earth he's going to save his home from a disaster of this magnitude. Then Miles pats him on the shoulder and tells Gwen and Hobie to slow down the building so he and Pav can save the people. What follows is a breathtaking masterclass in teamwork as Miles and Pavitr work in tandem to evacuate a building while it's collapsing, wordlessly passing duties between them on the fly and trusting each other completely to do their part. What really clinches it is the moment when Pavitr, having secured the freefalling civilians, stretches out his arm to clasp Miles' outstretched hand, showing absolute faith in the other Spider-Man's ability to guide him and his people to safety.
    • After rescuing Gayatri's father, the Spider-People receive a resounding applause from the people of Mumbattan as a show of appreciation for saving them. Despite Miles unintentionally causing a disruption to a Canon Event, the residents of Mumbattan still hold a great amount of admiration and love for the Spider-People and the heroic actions they undertook.
    • Pavitr is probably part of Gwen’s new team out of gratitude for Miles saving Inspector Singh. Despite Miguel claiming that Miles saving Singh is breaking canon and therefore causing Pavitr’s universe to fall apart, it seems Pavitr isn’t buying that and is choosing to help Miles instead.
    • And it's a small thing, but in his introduction, before getting upset with Miles for saying "chai tea", he offhandedly mentions that he often has chai with his "Maya Auntie". It's nice to know that this universe's Spider-Man has a good relationship with Aunt May, especially knowing how she's passed away in Peter B. Parker's and MCU Peter Parker's respective dimensions.
  • When Gwen discovers that Miles secretly followed her to Mumbattan, she's understandably quite annoyed with him at first, especially given everything that she knows and how his presence could potentially disrupt the mission. Pretty soon, though, the two of them flawlessly fall back into working together, complete with finishing each other's sentences, to the point that Pavitr notices the romantic tension between them pretty much immediately and becomes an instant Shipper on Deck.
    • Gwen also quickly falls into being protective of Miles when Mumbattan starts collapsing around them. While part of her attempt to hold him back from saving Captain Singh is because it's a canon event, it's also clear how much she genuinely cares for him, briefly sounding distraught when it appears he's been crushed and then elated when he's fine.
    • And when Mumbattan is cheering on the four Spider-People who saved them, Miles asks Gwen for her thoughts. Despite knowing the potential ramifications of what just happened by Miles defying canon, she can't help but be in awe of her more idealistic friend.
Gwen: What I always think. You're amazing.
Miles: (Visibly lighting up)...We make a good team, yeah?
      Gwen: Yeah.
    • To drive their Ship Tease even further, when they look around at the crowd cheering for them, the animators decided to put Gwen and Miles so close that one particular shot makes it look like they're holding hands.
  • Hobie Brown is quite possibly the coolest dude in the multiverse. He teaches Miles on how to better utilise his Venom Strike powers, helps him through his self-doubt and he is the only Spider-Person at Society HQ to never betray Miles throughout the whole movie. Hobie Brown may be a flippant, disrespectful anarchist punk, but he is truly worthy of being Spider-Man and, alongside Miles, may embody it better than everyone else.
    • Gwen mentions that Hobie lets her crash in his universe since she can't go back to hers. He points out that she borrows his stuff, but doesn't actually try to stop her and drops off a new watch so she can go after Miles. The exact nature of their relationship is left unclear, but Hobie's obviously looking out for Gwen.
    • Like Pavitr, Hobie is initially a bit dismissive and condescending towards Miles. After seeing his canon event-defying heroics in Mumbattan, Hobie enthusiastically slaps Miles on the back and begins to act more akin to a rebellious older cousin.
    • Hobie also has a soft spot for little Mayday Parker, encouraging her to keep web-swinging and affectionately calling her an anarchist.
Hobie: Takin' a crap on the establishment, I salute you.
    • While Miles (initially) brushes it off as Hobie being a contrarian, Hobie's pep talk to Miles prior to the meeting with Miguel is filed with surprising heart.
Hobie: Be your own boss. You don't need all this!
Miles: Then why are you here?
Hobie: (referring to Gwen) Looking out for my drummer, is all.
  • Minor, but Web-Slinger's horse, Willow seems to take a liking to Miles when he meets her, doing that ear-kissing thing that horses do to people. When Miles knocks Web-Slinger off of Willow, he rides on her until Sun-Spider knocks him off. Notably, Willow does not force Miles off at any point during the time that Miles was riding her, which is a nice change of pace after Spider-Cat and Spider-Rex both attack him.
  • It can be easy to miss as Miguel talks over him, but when Miles first meets him and brings up the Spot, he mentions that he "just wants to be taken seriously, like we all do", showing that even after Spot turned himself into a Humanoid Abomination and threatened Miles to his face that he'll take "everything" from him, Miles still felt sympathy for Spot and acknowledged that he played a part in his predicament. Too bad Miguel is too occupied with his anger towards Miles at that moment to even care what he's saying.
  • It's very brief, but when Jess tells Hobie he's not helping, and he replies "Good." there's a cut to Miles looking at Hobie and giving him what appears to be an appreciative expression, implying that in the midst of his rising anger and confusion, he still recognised Hobie's support in that statement.
  • When Miguel sends the other Spider-People to chase down Miles, Hobie refuses to join the hunt. He just goes back to his dimension, saying "Just for the record, I quit." He later arranges for Gwen to receive his dimension watch, and at the end joins her team to help Miles.
  • When Miles uses his Venom Strike to escape the force field Miguel traps him in, the blast also surges through almost every single person in the room and knocks them flat, leaving only four people left standing: Gwen, Peter B., Mayday, and Hobie. In fact, in the case of Gwen and Peter (and Mayday by extension), the bolts mostly seem to pass them by as they duck away, suggesting that as angry as Miles is at them he can't truly bring himself to hurt them. Hobie meanwhile seems no worse for wear as he gives Miles an approving grin despite standing the closest to ground zero. When push came to shove, he stood with Miles, and it appears Miles recognizes that by not striking him down.
  • Despite his finicky attitude towards Miles and his general Surrounded by Idiots demeanor, Miguel is noticeably very patient and unbothered by Mayday crawling all over him, even catching her when she falls off his shoulder. Maintaining his no-nonsense expression, Miguel casually plays with her even as Peter mocks his concerns about the multiverse.
    • After Miguel catches and holds her, Mayday sees her father walk by and reaches for him.
    • Crossing with Tear Jerker, Miguel watching a video of him and his daughter playing and acting silly together. Even though that isn't his original daughter, but his variant who died, Miguel still loved her and was horrified when she died after breaking a Canon Event.
  • Turns out Peter B. Parker and his MJ not only got back together but had a baby named Mayday. Peter's adventures with Miles and Miles encouraging him to take "the leap of faith" ended up working for the best for the couple.
    • Peter B. becomes an extremely devoted and affectionate father to Mayday. After sharing a warm embrace with Miles, Peter excitedly showcases numerous photos of Mayday, even though she is physically present with them. This behavior underscores Peter's immense pride and joy in being a father to Mayday.
    • Peter affectionately puts on the knitted Spider-Man cap on Mayday before setting off to find Miles, then plants a gentle kiss on her head.
    • Peter B. makes it clear that he has no intention of harming Miles or pressuring him to let his father die. Instead, Peter expresses that he hopes Mayday will grow up to be as incredible as Miles. It's unfortunate that Miguel's actions disrupted this heartfelt moment, further straining Miles' relationship with Peter B. Nonetheless, the gesture from Peter B. remains a sweet and genuine expression of his appreciation for Miles.
    • After the chaos with Miles and Spider-Society, Peter B. gently put Mayday to sleep as Mary Jane walked in and casually asking if he brought her to "another" fight, which he unconvincingly denies. Despite the situation, Mary Jane doesn't seem upset at all, and it’s really sweet to see how happy they are being back together, especially with Mayday now a part of their life.
    • When Peter B. asks Mary Jane if he'll ever be a good parent, clearly still bothered by the fallout between him and Miles, Mary Jane tells him that there is no rulebook for parenting, nor is there one for Peter's work as a hero, and that all he can do is to make the right adjustments. It can be inferred that this is when Peter B. reaches his epiphany that whether or not Miles is an anomaly, he is still his friend and his happiness is more important than maintaining the status quo.
    • Mayday wakes Peter up, eager to inform him that Gwen has arrived. Both Mayday and Peter are determined to mend their relationship with Miles and join forces with Gwen.
  • The Therapist Spider-Man, is obviously a joke. But think about it: most if not every Spider-Person in the Spider-Society had suffered through a tragic Canon Event, very undoubtedly and inevitably in the form of a Death by Origin Story via Uncle Ben. And it stands to reason that some are handling it worse than others, and who else would understand the pain better than literally every other member? Much like how the Spider-Gang were amazed to meet others similar to themselves, every member in the Society must feel immense relief and catharsis to finally have people that can empathize with what they've gone through, and probably can finally get the help they need without worry about secret identities.
Peni Parker: It's nice to know we're not alone.
    • Even more heartwarming, it is either hinted that Miguel himself implemented this, or a qualified Spider-Man - in this case Ezekiel Sims - volunteered their services because, given the nature of the Society and what it takes, it shows that the Society know exactly that the pain isn't something that goes away by itself and will provide help when needed.
  • Miles directly confronts Peter B. on whether he'd let Uncle Ben die or save him if given the chance to rewrite the past. While Pete indirectly says he wouldn't change the past, he adds that Uncle Ben is the reason so many Spider-People exist in the first place. The fact this one loving parental figure inspired so many heroes across the multiverse is heartwarming enough on its own. Peter later on even tells Miles that becoming Spider-Man has done so much more good for the world in spite of all the bad things that come with wearing the mask.
    • It adds to Peter's Character Development on letting go of his trauma and regaining that optimism he lost during his superhero career. He's more at peace with Ben's death (and most likely May's as well) and focusing on the good he's done as Spider-Man.
  • While it's mainly to set up a joke/attack, Sun-Spider genuinely tells Miles she's a big fan even when trying to chase and apprehend him. This is extra heartwarming given that the character was originally conceived as a fan character in the wake of the first film.
  • It's a brief moment and almost immediately turns into a Tear Jerker, but Gwen using a web line to catch Miles while the latter is free falling shows that although they're on opposing sides at this moment, she is still protective of him.
    • And then when Miles defeats Miguel, Gwen smiles for him. She's just tried to capture him, and now she's glad that he's going to be okay. Even though she despairs when Miles tells her goodbye and jumps off the train, she still calls out for him out of concern. And when she sees he's successfully evaded the entire Spider-Society, she smiles again for him. That just might have been the moment that she decided to stop betraying him and start being there for him again.
    • It's also notable that Miles fighting Miguel off him does not mean he's disproven Miguel of anything; for all Gwen knows, Miles is still a risk to the multiverse and him escaping from Miguel would only make that worse; but Gwen is happy to see Miles succeed and smiles for him despite of this, showing that her love and admiration for him has now become stronger than her fear that Miguel is right, and is what begins her wake-up call for real.
    • Gwen finally - and very publicly - stands up to Miguel after Miles escapes, making it abundantly clear that she feels Miguel is going too far and how angry she is at him for it. And explicitly telling Miguel that Miles - the original anomaly she's been forced to shun - is her friend, beginning to voice her doubts over the consequences of breaking canon, and finally refusing to continue helping the Society to hunt Miles down.
Gwen: [gritting her teeth] I'm not coming.
  • Spider-Byte manages to work around the programming of the Go-Home machine in time to stop Miles from leaving... but doesn't. She lets him escape so he can go home and try to save his father. The look on Miles' face, when he realizes she's letting him go, says it all.
    • She even joins Gwen's side after helping to recruit the other Spider-Folks in their quest to find Miles. This demonstrates that she is fully supportive of Miles and is willing to contribute in any way possible to assist him.
    • Her first meeting with him is a marked contrast to Jessica's. Notably, she wishes him 'good luck' and is friendly towards Miles whereas the Spider-Society is supposed to shun him.
  • When Gwen reunites with her father again after being exiled from the Spider-Society, she has a heart-to-heart with her father about how they're both trying to do the right thing and saving people in their own ways, and all she really needs is for him to accept her as who she is. George Stacy, in contrast to how he was in the beginning of the movie, reveals that he ultimately couldn't go through with arresting his daughter and decides to quit the force as a result, finally accepting Gwen for who she is and reconciling with her. Even better, unbeknownst to him, his decision to quit the police force indirectly saves his life from his 'canon event' death and also makes Gwen realize that she can change her destiny and that the future is not set in stone as Miguel led her to believe, setting her up on a path to rescue Miles from the Spider-Society and assist him in saving his father from his fate as well. The hug they share after this conversation really shows how much they accept the other.
George: You're the best thing I've ever done.
  • Special mention also has to go to what led to Gwen and her dad reconciling; Gwen went to their house, not with the intent to talk to her dad, but to get the picture she has of her and Miles. Such a small thing, but Gwen was going to risk running into her dad whom she didn't want to speak to, believing he'd disowned her and was waiting to arrest her, just to get the picture of her and Miles. To keep as encouragement? To comfort herself? To show Miles one of their most treasured shared memories? We can just imagine.
    • Which means Miles indirectly brought Gwen and George back together.
  • Then Gwen curbstomps Scarlet Spider, steals his watch, and crushes it with her hand. It visibly symbolises that she's turned her back on Miguel's indoctrination, and will fight him and the Spider-Society for Miles. Especially striking considering that at first, she desperately needed a Spider-Society watch, and to stay in the Society. Now she has her own watch thanks to Hobie and doesn't need the Spider-Society anymore. She's free to fight back brutally against them if they dare to try hurting Miles or his loved ones.
  • Gwen tells Rio and Jeff that she'll find Miles, that he loves them more than they can ever imagine... and whispers: I've seen it. She saw Miles outwit and outrun an entire Spider-Army (herself included) for his parents... and is now determined to make things right with him, and bring him back to them.
    • The script for the movie makes this moment even more heartwarming as it describes that the way Gwen talks about Miles makes Rio and Jeff realise she "loves the right things" about their son, and makes the fond way Rio looks at her even more of a Meaningful Look.
  • Although the movie has been highly anticipated, many fans have expressed their disappointment that Spider-Ham and Spider-Man Noir, both an Ensemble Dark Horse in their own right, are nowhere to be seen. When the movie came out, Ham's line about being unable to save everybody becomes extremely important regarding Miles' conflict with the Spider-Society. Not only that, but neither of the pair is among the hordes of Spiders trying to stop Miles, which includes Peter B., Gwen, and Peni. But the icing on the cake is the cliffhanger. Miles is stranded in another dimension at risk of dying, either from being outside his own dimension or at the hands of his uncle and a variant of himself. But Gwen has rallied a team to find him. Ham and Noir are on said team. They didn’t turn on Miles, and for all we know, all it took for Gwen was to travel to their respective dimensions, tell them “Miles needs our help” and they Jumped at the Call.
  • During the trailer, when Rio tells Miles that she hopes he never doubts he's loved, Gwen is shown affectionately bumping her shoulder into Miles.
  • During the fight with Spot outside Miles’ school, Jefferson treats Spider-Man with a lot of familiarity and respect, treating him like an equal and not blaming Spot’s wanton mayhem on the superhero. It goes to show that Miles managed to build a good working relationship with his father under the mask.
  • While Miles ending up in the crime-ridden Earth-42 verse is riddled with tons of Nightmare Fuel and he ends up captured by that universe's evil version of himself and his uncle, there are still some sweet moments, even subtly:
    • Before Miles realizes he's not talking to "his" mother, Earth-42!Rio promises her son that whatever his reveal, she'll still love him.
    • Part of what makes it so hard to catch on that Miles is in the wrong universe is how Rio acts exactly like the main universe version of her. Despite this being a world where things went horribly wrong and corrupted familiar faces, it didn’t steal her kindness, and her relationship with 42-Miles is entirely positive.
    • Aaron gives some money to Rio and when she begins worrying, he stops her in her tracks. Stating that it was no problem since they're family. It implies that after the death of his brother, Aaron took it upon himself to help out his sister-in-law however much he can.
    • Jefferson's mural is implied to be done by Earth-42!Miles (aka Prowler!Miles). It has the same manner and intimate artwork like the one "our" Miles did of his uncle in the 1610 universe. While Prowler!Miles may be a violent, cold criminal, there's no doubt he loves his family. Heck, it can even be inferred that his (and Aaron's) kidnapping of Main!Miles is because the latter was with "their" Rio and the former two believed he was doing (or about to do) something to harm her.
    • If one pauses and looks over the photos in Earth 42 Miles' home, there are ordinary photos of him as a kid, receiving a kiss from 42 Rio, and one in particular shows him hugging an elderly woman (presumably a grandparent) while he's smiling, implying that, while his life took a turn for the worse after his dad died, he was possibly once a sweet kid not very different from 1610 Miles.
  • While it's during the terrifying ending moments, Gwen and Miles get one last demonstration of how close their bond is, despite their falling out. Namely, Gwen's spider-sense goes off when Miles realises he's in the wrong dimension, and later goes off again when he's knocked out by Earth-42!Miles. Spider-sense normally doesn't work like that; it goes off either when the Spider-Person themselves is in danger, or the people in close proximity to them. Gwen's spider-sense noticed across dimensions that Miles was in danger. If that doesn't show how close their bond unconsciously is, nothing else will. This would later get confirmed by Word of God.
  • Gwen starts her own Spider team 'with a few old friends'. It's touching that this is the first time she's explicitly called anyone other than Miles and her Peter a 'friend'. Really shows how far she's come since ITSV, when she initially didn't do friends anymore.
  • Even though Spot has become a Transhuman Abomination bent on killing Miles' father and destroying everything Miles holds dear, the hero finally acknowledges Spot as his nemesis when warning his mom, or unknown to him at the time Earth-42!Rio, that he's coming and how dangerous he is. After spending the entire movie being looked down on and treated as a joke by everyone, yearning for Miles to take him seriously, Spot finally gets the respect he's been craving for since his mutation.
  • In a mix of this and Tear Jerker, the song "Calling" from Metro Boomin's soundtrack for the movie seems to be from Gwen's POV, being an apology and love song with lyrics reminiscent of her and Miles' dynamic, from her regret ("Instead of holding you down, I should lift you up"/"It hurts me when you start to see my flaws"/"Let me be your hero [...] I know you can't stand me") to their feelings ("It's my fault, made you fall for me"/"When I ran into you, I didn't plan on falling in love"). It also seems to reference her ending decision with the repeated lyrics of "Just to save you, I'd give all of me."
  • Despite Peni having taken a level in cynic since the first film, she doesn't join in the climactic chase, nor does she guard the "Go Home" machine and in the ending, joins Spider-Gwen's group indicating that while she became cynical, she's not going to outright betray one of her friends.
  • Gwen's dad, in the middle of a difficult moment, asks if she's "too grown up to hug your old man?". She's across the room and hugging him before he can finish asking.
