Chapter 2

  • A worried and saddened Undine says after the fight between Sally and Tessa that she only wants to help people. Gwen's answer is to put a reassuring hand on her shoulder and say with confidence: We will.
  • Undine telling Tessa to not care about Sylvia and Sally's complaints, and Tessa saying that if the girls do well that night without her, it will be a boost of confidence.

Chapter 3

  • Tessa was worried for Sylvia's family. Why? Because Sylvia was the sole breadwinner and she left her mother free to stay at home with all the money she earned.
  • Undine still isn't willing to give up the fight.
  • Whenever Undine uses her magical powers after being healed by Tessa, her pupils turn pink.
  • Heartful Punch coming to Undine's rescue.
  • Heartful Punch offers to let Undine tag along despite not being on the same team, because it's dangerous outside alone.
  • Undine's reaction to the above is thinking she almost forgot there were still girls like Heartful Punch out there.

Chapter 4

  • When Heartful Punch finds out about what happened to Team Alchemical, she's afraid Undine hates her and says she can't stand when people she barely knows hate her.
  • Undine standing up for Zoe, a timid girl being harassed for not going to the nightly patrols.
  • Heartful Punch having lunch with Undine, keeping her company and assuring her that wanting to get better is ok.
  • Heartful Punch advises Undine against fighting alone if she can avoid it though admitting she has no right to dictate, and telling Undine her real name. Undine loves it.
  • Tess comes to Future's Promise and asks Undine to take care of herself and join a new team ASAP.
  • Undine says Tess is a great friend. Tess gives her a friendly noogie in response.

Chapter 5

  • Team Forte, though say they are too thematic and full to let Undine join, give her a few tips about where to find mixed teams who she might be able to join or even some girls who are soloing. Undine for her part is grateful.
  • Team Blitz, a mixed team who had to reject Undine because of their leader's uncontrolled electricity powers, feel terrible about having to reject her, give her tips on a fire-ice duo she could join and ask her to keep in touch since they do all go to the same school.
  • The fire-ice duo in question is a Battle Couple that makes Undine feel like a third wheel, so she decides not to ask about joining them. Nevertheless, both of them express concern for Undine as she leaves to rescue the civilian they mentioned.

Chapter 6

  • Heartful Punch invites Undine to join her training group and suggests she take a night off from fighting, citing rest being an important part of training.
  • While unhelpful for her survivor's guilt and making her feel awkward, Tessa coming into her new homeroom and finding herself surrounded by adoring fans is heartwarming. They have not forgotten her and her past heroics.

Chapter 7

  • Undine's training and growing friendship with Kokoro. Kokoro gives her good advice and is very supportive.
  • Undine tells Kokoro about the purple girl —the first time she's told another person— and how she feels at fault. Kokoro hugs her and tells her emphatically that it's not her fault. This becomes even more heartwarming after chapter ten, as it's revealed Heartful Punch knows exactly where Undine is coming from, having previously spent a long time blaming herself for the deaths of her mother and grandparents.

Chapter 8

  • Kokoro offers to keep teaming up with Undine.

Chapter 9

  • When they meet the little girl Claire again and her eyes go big, Undine expects her to fangirl over Heartful Punch, but instead she runs up and hugs Undine and gushes over her, calling her "Miss Water".
  • There's something subtly heartwarming about the reveal that Claire's cousin is both transgender and a magical girl. Firstly in that the characters just accept it and move on, they never mention or question it when meeting the girl, they never comment on it. Second, The Woman in White, and/or whatever or whoever else may be involved in choosing the magical girls, considers her just as valid a target for those powers as any other girl her age, regardless of what she was born as.
  • The Woman in White quells Undine's bad dreams, declaring she's been burdened enough for one night and hopes Undine rests well.

Chapter 10

  • Baby HP with a "Chu for You" onesie.
  • When Heartful Punch's mother Mitsuki, magical girl name Moonlight Spear, announced she was pregnant, everyone was supportive. Her grandparents helped with the baby stuff and HP's father worked to save up money.
  • HP admits to being on antidepressants and says that Undine's problems are, as far as HP is concerned, bigger and more recent. Undine says HP is still strong and asks HP out for dinner.

Chapter 11

  • Zoe says Undine and Heartful Punch are "both pretty amazing". Since Undine has been plagued by self-doubt and Heroic Self-Deprecation about her powers, it's sweet to see someone look up to her and praise her in the same breath as Heartful Punch.

Chapter 13

  • Rue reassures Zoe that it's okay to be afraid and tells her that even if she never fights again, she's officially saved one person, which is more than most people can say. Zoe takes a moment to absorb that and smiles to herself before following Rue, looking at peace for the first time since the start of their conversation, like a weight has been lifted from her.
  • When Rue asks Zoe, "No magical girl title yet?", Zoe smiles and says, "…Nah, I'm pretty happy with just this name for now." Knowing that Zoe is trans, this line holds deeper meaning.

Crimmus Interstitial

  • Anemone explains the story of Holly Jolly (aka Santa Claus), specifically pointing out that she isn't real and where the presents actually come from. She notes that it's why she never gets any presents - then notices one by her Crimmus Bush with her name on it.

Chapter 14

  • HP's reason for not formally asking Undine to team up: she can't ask Undine to give up her name of Alchemical Water, which is literally the only thing she has left of Team Alchemical. Even her manager is surprised that Kokoro actually thought it through instead of just opposing the team-up out of I Work Alone inertia.
    • Her manager agrees to market it as them teaming up, but keeping their respective names for now. Sure, it's not the greatest for branding, but she's willing to do it because her ultimate goal in getting HP to team up was to keep her safe.
"You know what's really bad for branding? Dead magical girls."
  • Undine's Adorkable reaction when she learns that fans are sending her letters, enough to fill a bag.
    • Zoe sent her a letter not long after she and HP saved Zoe's cousins, thanking her for it and saying Undine inspired her to finally go out and fight monsters, so she can be that kind of person for someone else.
  • Bud and the Magical Girl Training Club immediately defending Undine from Cassidy, no questions asked.

Chapter 15

  • HP's reaction to finding out about the fight and Undine running away? Turning around to run and search for Undine.
  • HP hugging and comforting Undine, telling her whatever information Cassidy had, Cass was still way out of line and what happened with Cass and with Team Alchemical is not Undine's fault at all.
  • Rue and Zoe are indeed teaming up.
  • Undine and HP are officially teaming up as well, with HP even saying she'll always be there for Undine.
  • The Big Damn Kiss.

Chapter 16

  • Zoe wants to join the training club, despite being nervous around Heartful Punch. She gets a big boost of confidence in the idea when Undine first lets her know that HP would be thrilled to have her join, then relaying the positive response and calming Zoe that Heartful Punch has her own anxieties just like Zoe (in this case, about not being liked by a random person where HP has no real way of knowing what, if anything, she did wrong).
  • HP's pupils often turn into little hearts when seeing/mentioning Undine.
  • Just how supporting HP is of Undine, who is now dealing with Cassidy's disappearance and telling the club about Goops.

Chapter 17

  • Undine gives Kokoro a goodnight kiss before leaving, leaving her absolutely radiating happiness, much to Suzy's amusement.
  • Mingxing offers her ear to Undine if she needs to talk about losing Team Alchemical, because Mingxing can relate. Undine is appreciative.
  • In the flashback, Mingxing vowing to get baby Kokoro to a hospital with her Super-Speed, despite just losing her arm and facing the prospect of running out of magic (which does happen). As she lies on the ground just outside the hospital, hospital staff rushing around her and the magic fading from her body, she makes eye contact with Kokoro and smiles, and it's clear she considers it worth it.
"Sunny, Mitsuki gave up everything for Kokoro. I'm going to protect her."

Chapter 19

  • Undine tackling HP in a hug after she returns from meeting Tessa-Goops and nearly disappearing.

Chapter 20

  • In the interstitial, there's something just plain adorable about Kokoro encouraging baby Kicks to drink the milk.
    Kokoro: Go, baby, go!

Chapter 21

  • Undine and Kokoro transforming together, in which the joy they feel in each other's presence is palpable. And the transformation revealed Undine's back bow is starting to take on similar characteristics as Kokoro's scarf.
  • Undine's parents are right there in the front row to support their daughter. Kokoro's dad is there too, even if he's in the back row trying to be inconspicuous.
  • Undine finds out about Kicks and immediately wants to meet her.
