Heartwarming / Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: What Came After

• Riolu and Popplio offer to let Alesia stay with them so she can have a home and feed herself, in spite of the former's disbelief that she's actually a human. Popplio even calls her a friend, and she is overcome with happiness at their gestures.
• When Popplio gets brutally knocked aside during the Melmetal fight and needs a Reviver Seed, Alesia rushes over and feeds him one, much to his gratitude.
• Green Kecleon gives Team Everlasting and Gallade a hefty reward for saving his brother, even though he's a shopkeeper so this would cut into their profits. Brotherly love, much?
• Trevenant sets aside his dislike of Team Everlasting the moment they return with his son safe and sound, and rewards them as promised. It even gets them wondering if he's really as bad a guy as they thought.
• Adding to the above, they make up properly when Team Everlasting return to Izolo Village after their mission in Marble Cavern and find a party being held in honor of their defeat of the Klefki trio the night before, and also Alesia being pardoned for her supposed crime of petty theft thanks to the town's usual leader, a normal-colored Braviary, returning.
• Riolu convincing Popplio to run away from the latter's abusive parents and go on the run with Riolu in Second Interlude.
• For all of Riolu's pride and arrogance, he did turn down Popplio's team name suggestion of "Riolu's Enforcers" since he didn't want to have only his name in it without his best friend's too.
• When Riolu doesn't respond to Popplio calling him on his badge in Lights Out, Popplio immediately decides to go to Kaia Town to find out what's wrong. Alesia follows him.
• Steenee discovers Riolu unconscious in Cutthroat Maze in Lights Out. Tyrunt is more interested in getting the Furret client out (so he can claim the reward), but Steenee gets Riolu out by herself and even allows him, Popplio, and Alesia to stay with her and Tyrunt until Riolu recuperates.
• Although she doesn't admit it at first, seeing Riolu feel bad about trying to steal Team Guile's work (after it turns out Steenee is trying to send money home to her family), gives Alesia newfound respect for him. Riolu and Popplio tell Alesia the story of how they came to form their team, and Alesia comforts Popplio after the abuse he suffered back in Nispet Village. Riolu promises Alesia he'll treat her better from now on.
