Heartwarming / Muppet Babies (1984)

  • The episode "Scooter's Hidden Talent" has enough sweet and endearing moments to make you smile for a good while.
    • The mere fact that the Muppet Babies would go to the trouble of making a birthday present for Nanny. If there was any doubt of how much they cared about their caretaker, then this would surely quell those doubts.
    • Nanny telling Scooter that he shouldn't be upset just because he didn't contribute to making her birthday present.
    • The other Muppet Babies trying to help Scooter find what he's good at, even trying to sound encouraging when Scooter messes up.
    • In the end, Scooter finds his special skill when he uses his computer to determine what is wrong with Nanny's new exercise bike and fix it.
  • A lot of the Muppet Babies interacting with Kermit's nephew Robin in "Close Encounters of the Frog Kind", especially how quick Kermit is to accept being an uncle when Skeeter explains to him what that means.
  • "Good Clean Fun" is another endearing example of how much the babies care about Nanny. The plot is set off by the children accidentally breaking Nanny's lamp. Even though Nanny forgives them and knows that they didn't mean to break it, the kids still want to make up for their actions.
  • The other Muppet Babies forgiving Gonzo for keeping the cookies to himself in "The Great Cookie Robbery" and choosing not to tell Nanny about it.
  • "The Green Ranger" has Kermit upset about his favorite TV character the Range Rider's show being canceled. In the imagination sequences, the Range Rider helps him come to grips with it by suggesting he could continue the Range Rider's legacy and ultimately informs Kermit that if he chooses, the Range Rider could live on in his imagination.
  • In “My Muppet Valentine”, Nanny comes in with cookies for everyone on Valentine’s Day with their faces on them, but Rowlf is upset because he never got a cookie. The others try to cheer him up, but every time they try to talk to him, he retreats elsewhere, and they begin to worry that they’re just making him feel worse. In the end, Rowlf finally comes out and reveals that the real reason he was trying to keep to himself was trying to write a song for everyone called “You’re Special to Me”. After his song, Nanny comes in and applauds him, and then apologizes, saying she accidentally left his cookie back in the kitchen, and hands it to him.
