Heartwarming / Mask (1985)

• Rocky and Rusty have an argument; later that night, she comes home with a date, but Rocky has a bad headache caused by his condition. With barely any hesitation, she kicks her date out and drops everything to comfort her son.
• Bulldozer looks like a Badass Biker but he gets a few heartwarming moments:
  • Using his intimidating appearance to frighten off some kids mocking Rocky on his first day at school.
  • Sneaking a puppy into Rocky's bedroom after Rusty wouldn't let him get a dog.
  • Telling Rocky he's proud of him at his graduation, also revealing the reason he doesn't speak is because he has a strong stutter.
• On the first day of school, Rocky's classmates happily greet a pretty female student but don't even look at Rocky when he's introduced. Once he cracks a joke to break the ice, they warm up to him almost right away.
• After Rusty, in a misguided attempt to help Rocky, pays a prostitute to sleep with him (the two just talk through the night, and after the prostitute gets over the initial shock, she and Rocky get along), Rocky storms out of the house the next morning. He goes to visit Gar, and bitterly asks why Gar keeps coming back to Rusty even though she always drives him crazy. Gar tells the story of when he went out with Rusty for the first time; he took her and Rocky to get their picture taken by a professional photographer and tells Rocky he never saw any woman that was as pretty as Rusty was when she was looking at Rocky getting his picture taken.
