  • Riku Replica's devotion to Naminé. Even after learning that she fabricated their memories together, the Replica holds on to his promise to protect her without any ill will, as its all he has. Naminé was wracked with guilt from being forced to manipulate the Replica's memories and felt that she didn't deserve their friendship, so the Replica's unconditional devotion to her despite knowing the truth touched her deeply.
  • During her first visit to Traverse Town, Xion befriends Pinocchio and Geppetto and is exposed to the concept of family for the first time in her life. Geppetto's paternal instinct kicks in when he learns that Xion's own creator DiZ is abusing her.
Geppetto: I'm happy to help you, though it's quite sad that you never knew this before. What sort of upbringing did you have? You seem much older than Pinocchio…
Xion: I don't know if I am. My memories only go back to yesterday. But I haven't really had an 'upbringing.' DiZ says I'm a tool and that I'm expendable. My only purpose is to finish my mission, and I've done a lousy job with that.
Geppetto: Your only purpose? Well, that will never do! If this DiZ fellow is going to treat you so cruelly, then I must insist you stay here. At least for a little while.
    Xion: But my mission—
Geppetto: Child, there are more things to life than missions. And if anyone believes you are expendable, then they clearly have no business taking care of children.
  • Goofy routinely writes his son Max letters throughout his adventures. Max mentions having a stack of his father's letters that reaches the ceiling of his room, including one where he expressed concern for Naminé. The latter is surprised and touched when she hears just how much Goofy cared despite barely knowing her.
  • Riku and Elsa's relationship. As lost souls who ran away from their loved ones in fear of hurting them, they quickly bond over their shared struggles and become friends. Even when Elsa learns that Riku is under constant surveillance by Organization XIII, she refuses to leave his side and in fact puts herself in harm's way by directly threatening the Organization.
Elsa: Riku... What would it take to set you free?
Riku: L—look, I…I really don’t know. I have no idea how this tracking spell works or—
Elsa: Do you know where they live?
Riku: Elsa, my friends tried storming their castle, but it’s not that simple. They have this barrier that even the darkness can’t penetrate—
    Elsa: I'll freeze it.
    Riku: You can't-
Elsa: In a glacier. In an ice age if I have to.
    Riku: ...It's a flying castle.
Elsa: Good. I'll tear it out of the sky.
Riku: They can hear everything we’re saying.
Elsa: (Hugs Riku) Let them listen. It doesn’t matter. We should never face our darkness alone. I’ll be with you every step of the way.
    • This exchange cements their status as True Companions.
Elsa: Riku. What’s his name? The leader of the Organization?
      Riku: Xe...Xemnas.
Elsa: (Whispers coldly) Xemnas... I'm coming for you.
    • After spending so much time running away, Riku has met someone who not only shares his struggles, but is willing to stand by him and may even be capable of saving him. Moved to Tears of Joy from Elsa's unconditional support, she surprises him further by wiping away some of his tears.
    • The narration in this scene really takes the cake.
For as much as this moment meant to him, Riku was even more amazed at what it meant to Elsa. A slave to fear her whole life, cut off from all but the scarcest human interaction ever since the accident thirteen years ago—and less than a day of liberation later, she was already the wise, kind, and fearless woman she was always meant to be.
Riku wanted more than anything to thank her. For her to put her own life at risk and openly threaten Xemnas himself, all for his sake…
