  • When Superman saves Zatanna from the vacuum of space and revives her with CPR.
    Zatanna: Sknaht.
    Superman: "Sknaht"?
Zatanna: (with tears in her eyes) I meant, thanks.
  • When Black Manta orders his minions to execute Aquaman's infant son, only for them to stand together and defy him.
    • It helps that Aquaman destroyed the mind control equipment he had on his backside.
  • Captain Marvel coming to Superman's aid definitely counts, particularly once you consider that their last - and arguably most famous - major encounter was in Kingdom Come, where the two fought one another. The scene is even a mirror of the Kingdom Come moment, but instead of the Captain standing over Superman, ready to fight, he extends his hand to a man who could really use it.
    • There's also the scene where Superman and Captain Marvel are chasing Flash, who is running out of control. Captain Marvel has a plan, but it requires summoning the magic lightning to throw Flash off his feet. With Superman in position, Captain Marvel summons the lightning, and the plan works, but before now normal Billy Batson can be killed impacting with the ground, Superman grabs the boy saying, "I've got you, Bill." With that answer of respect to a colleague, Superman throws the boy up in the air for the proper clearance for him to transform back into Captain Marvel.
  • Jean Loring sat next to a fatally wounded Ray Palmer. She initially wanted him to quit being a superhero, but more than ever she wants him to come back to her. Much more heartwarming, despite, or perhaps because, of what happens between them in the main continuity.
  • Green Arrow points out that Ralph's wife is safe at home, having not been one of the ones taken. He's there just because his friends need his help and it's the right thing to do.
  • The Phantom Stranger snaps Hal Jordan out of a hallucination, then actually hands him his power battery so that he can recharge and fly back to Earth.
  • When Captain Marvel visits Arkham Asylum and sees Dr. Sivana's condition, he begs Green Lantern to heal him. Even if he's an Evil Genius, Marvel can't stand to see his archenemy in that state.
  • When Superman meets Lois Lane again, he kisses her passionately while his cousin Supergirl -who disparaged Lois while she was mind-controlled- beams at them.
  • The scene where the heroes are reunited with their rescued friends and loved ones. If you look closely, you can see Steve Trevor embracing Wonder Woman despite her condition.
  • At the end of the mini-series, the villains have all been defeated, the world's nuclear weapons have all been destroyed, and most importantly of all, not a single heroic or innocent person has died (and some ordinary people's lives have even been improved)... except for Wonder Woman, who was dealt a killing blow in the very first battle and has been heroically carrying on in spite of her deteriorating health, even wrapping her Lasso of Truth around herself so that she doesn't lose sight of who she really is. And in the very next–to–last scene, when she is finally succumbing to Cheetah's slow–acting poison and literally baking from the inside out, her mother reveals that she has built a replacement clay body for her and slowly, quietly prays to the goddess Aphrodite to bless her with a daughter as she had once before, even acknowledging that she was wrong to try and keep Diana to herself and that she's needed by the entire world. There's several beat panels... and then, against all odds, the new Wonder Woman opens her eyes. Cue the Sun.
