The people in the red minivan who give Allison a ride to the base; she didn't flag them down, they stopped and asked her if she needed a ride.
Once the survivors of the plane crash reach the bunker, they get the attention of a military truck which comes and picks them up and all of them are allowed into the bunker regardless if they were selected or not. Even when the apocalypse is minutes away, human decency still remains a top priority.
The nurse, still doing her job even at the end of the world, giving away her stocks of insulin to a desperate family. More broadly, all the military and government personnel, pilots and even air traffic controllers out working to assist other people to the very end.
The very end of the movie: And first, the military stationed at Greenland are heard sending out radio calls, searching for survivors as the bunkers opened and everyone inside silently stares at the wreckage of their planet. Then birds are heard chirping and two fly in front of them, causing everyone to smile. Then as the survivors step out and we see the planet, we hear more radio stations responding to the earlier calls, showing there are more survivors, ending the movie on a hopeful note.
