Heartwarming / Detectorists

• The third series, and in particular the last episode, wraps up everything in a neat little sugary bow. Only for some of it to be undone with the Happy Ending Override that came with the 2022 special.
  • Lance reconnects with his daughter - who decides to stay nearby, eventually moving in to his girlfriend's lovely houseboat - and Toni moves in with him. Mags and Tony are finally out of the picture for good.
  • Andy and Becky are able to buy a lovely run-down cottage which they plan do do up to make a family home together.
  • Terra Firma finally patch up their petty differences with Lance, Andy and the rest of the DMDC. Lance finally gains an appreciation of Phil's Arado metal detector.
  • Toni and Becky share a bottle of wine and a laugh observing their partners' often silly but rewarding hobby.
  • Terry finds yet another button, calls to his beloved wife (who is reading his book about the buttons he's found), admires the beautiful scenery and thinks about how lucky he is.
  • Varde proposes to Louise.
  • The colossal hoard is finally discovered - after six episodes of teasing - seconds before the end credits.
