Heartwarming / Cruella

Go To

  • Cruella's relationships with Horace, Jasper, and Artie. In all other continuities, Jasper and Horace are just Cruella's hired minions and she treats them like horrible, bumbling idiots. In this movie, while she isn't always nice to them and they do have a brief falling out, they are actually genuine friends and stick together, even after Cruella gets what she wants. She even refers to them as her family towards the end. The last shot of them inside Hell Hall feels like a shared victory, not just a victory for Cruella.
    • Jasper and Horace giving Cruella an chance to work with fashion. Sure, the position being a cleaner's job and having a rude boss ruins it. But it's the thought that counts, especially because it still gets her a foot in the company and, as Jasper tells her and Horace more than once, there was no "angle" for a heist, showing how much they care for her.
    • John, the Baroness' valet and loyal confidante, rescuing Cruella not just once, but twice: once when she was born to the Baroness who ordered John to kill her, to which he instead gave her to Catherine to raise as her own. And again as an adult, where he rescues her from the burning building and then comes clean to her about her true parentage. After this revelation, he becomes loyal to Cruella instead of his boss, giving her shelter and resources and even helping her in her revenge against the Baroness. Not bad for someone who we initially assumed was just the Baroness's abiding lackey. He also made sure to get Cruella's dogs out of the fire safely.
    • The Baroness's Dalmatians eventually take to Horace, Jasper, and Cruella. They take to Cruella enough, likely helped by her being the biological daughter of their master the Baroness, that they listen to her. When their master pushes Cruella over the cliff, they're in the background trying to look down over the cliff trying to find her.
    • In The Stinger Cruella sends both Roger and Anita a Dalmatian puppy, Pongo and Perdita, as gifts.
