"It would be a lie to say she wasn't a little happy in the end."

    Chapter 4
  • Catra bonds with a kid named Kimberly at a festival, with Catra deeming the experience annoying, but not completely unenjoyable.

    Chapter 5
  • The narration mentions Kimberly was the first person Catra has trusted besides Adora, and how Kimberly almost made her smile. Catra would later save the kid from a burning building.

    Chapter 13
  • When Scorpia is introduced to Adora and Scorpia hugs her, instead of getting angry and annoyed like Catra did, Adora just lets out a sigh of pain and mentally notes that at least it will be easy to make friends with her.
  • Shadow Weaver giving Adora the magic headband as a present and her genuine concern over Adora's feelings would be heartwarming, if it wasn't immediately under cut by Shadow Weaver being glad that she will have to use the headband and be infected by everlasting darkness.

     Chapter 14
  • Scorpia comforting Adora and telling her that she was the very best friend to Catra she could be. This makes Adora smile and think about how sincere Scorpia is and how she is glad to have a new friend to trust while she works everything out.
  • Glimmer checking on Catra and wanting to learn more about her so she doesn't misunderstand Catra like she did at Plumeria. While Catra remains distant, she humors Glimmer and promises to tell her one thing about herself if she help her figure out how the sword works.
  • Bow and Glimmer save Catra from drowning.

     Chapter 28
  • Adora comforting Scorpia after find out the other princesses never seem to like her. In contrast to canon Catra (who was sympathetic to her, but was also using her as a proxy for her own feelings), this Adora gives her a big hug, thanks Scorpia for showing her that not all princesses are evil, calls her a kind and sensitive person, and gives her a genuine pep talk to go to the prom. Scorpia hugs her in kind.

    Chapter 32
  • From the villains' side, Hordak, Shadow Weaver, and Scorpia congratulating Adora on her success at Princess Prom. Hordak says that she did well, Shadow Weaver tells Adora how proud she is, and Scorpia cheers for her and gives her a hug. While it wouldn't last, Adora thinks to herself how amazing it all is.
  • As Catra is reading Glimmer's diary, she and the reader see how much Glimmer cares about Catra and how much she wants to be her friend:
    • Though it turned out horribly, it's cute how excited about Princess Prom Glimmer was and how she was sure Catra was close to calling them friends.
    • Despite the initial unpleasantness cause by Shadow Weaver, Glimmer notes that they had a great time at Mystacor. Glimmer also notes that it was the most relaxed she had seen Catra (especially after Catra got a proper massage) and finishes the entry by saying she knows that they'll definitely be friends by the time they come back.
    • After their adventure in Dryl, Glimmer was so happy that Catra forgave her and had seeming started warming up to them.
    • After learning how starved for affection Catra was before Plumeria, Glimmer found herself wishing Catra had a family of her own. She goes so far to say that she would be willing to share her mom with Catra and that she'd like to be a sister to Catra. Catra herself even smiles while reading this.
    • The entry from the day Glimmer met Catra starts with Glimmer listing all of her bad first impressions of Catra, but she then say that those impressions were wrong and that Catra really does have the makings of a hero and is someone that can be counted. Based on Catra's reaction, she may have been waiting her whole life for someone to say that about her.
    • Each entry has a friendship meter at the bottom, as Glimmer was keeping track of how much Catra seemed to be warming up to them.
  • The closing words of the chapter. While she only says it in her head, Catra finally admits to herself that Bow and Glimmer are her friends.

    Chapter 34
  • After Bow is rescued he runs up and hugs Catra, glad that she is okay. After Bow lets go, he apologizes because he thinks that Catra still doesn't consider them friends. Then Catra surprises Bow by saying she is glad to see him okay too. Bow is touched by this.

    Chapter 35
  • A very bittersweet one comes after Catra has been taken to Shadow Weaver. Catra insults Glimmer (a lot) to try to convince Shadow Weaver that she doesn't care about her. As Glimmer begins to tear up however, a twitch of guilt flashes across Catra's face, tipping off Shadow Weaver about Catra's real feelings. After mocking Catra that she somehow made a friend Shadow Weaver, she calls Catra's bluff and is about to hurt Glimmer until Catra shouts at her to stop. This makes Glimmer realize that Catra does care about her after all.
  • After a brief moment of trolling from Catra, Glimmer cries tears of joy that Catra is okay with her memories intact and gives her a big hug. Catra (partly out of guilt for the cruel joke) gives Glimmer a small hug in return and the two smile as they joke about how Catra was suppose to be the one doing the rescuing.

     Chapter 36
  • In spite of everything Shadow Weaver did to her, Glimmer actually manages to convince Catra to spare Shadow Weaver's life. Glimmer has a small smile on her face as she thinks to herself that now she knows that when it comes down to it Catra will choose her friends over her hatred.

    Chapter 37
  • Angella's hug with Glimmer is just as heartwarming as it was in canon. As a bonus, the story describes it as the happiest she had ever been to see Glimmer and that she never wanted to ever let her go again. Bow is so overwhelmed by the beauty of it that he just has to join in.
  • After the group hug, Angella walks over to Catra. At first Catra prepares for a scolding at best. Instead, Angella pulls her in and hugs her tightly. As the chapter puts it "It was the first time she had ever been so tightly hugged by a mother". The moment is again beautiful to the point where Bow can only just barely let them have to themselves. The sight just makes Glimmer smile, glad to be home.
  • Angella asks Catra to tell her if anything suspicious happens. Given how hostile she was to Catra in beginning, it is really nice to see that she finally trusts Catra.
  • Catra immediately wants to tell Angella about Glimmer's glitching and only doesn't because she doesn't because she doesn't want to betray Glimmer's trust. Even if it puts her in a tough spot, it shows how much she has grown that she actually care what they both think of her.

    Chapter 50
  • A bittersweet version. Glimmer, Bow, and Angella are all very understanding of Catra wanting to stay out of the fight. As much as they want her to stay, they won't make her fight her friend.
  • In spite of the hostilities the two had between each other when Catra first joined, Angella argued to her guards that Catra isn't a coward and shouldn't be punished for leaving if she chooses. She understands Catra has been through a lot the past few days and won't hold it against her if she leaves.
  • The chapter ending. Catra bursts onto the battlefield, transformed into She-Ra, knocks Adora and Scorpia back from Glimmer and Bow, and finally says out loud the one thing the two had been waiting to hear:
Catra: Stay away from my friends, Adora.

    Chapter 54
  • When Catra and Adora are in their beam struggle, Bow and Glimmer rush to Catra's side. It seems like they are there to support Catra when she needs them most, but Catra thinks they are there to force her hand into going all out against Adora. Either way, they are willingly putting themselves in harm's way to support Catra. As Glimmer puts it:
Glimmer: We're your friends. And we're not going to leave your side no matter what happens, got it!
  • As heartbreaking as it is that Catra starts crying uncontrollably, it's still beautiful that Glimmer, Bow, Angella, and Swiftwind all come down to her and hug her. While it doesn't stop her from crying, Catra thinks about how they are the only things keeping her from feeling completely alone in the world and they are her family now.
  • While they stay back to let her be with the people she is closest to, the other princesses and Seahawk wanted to go down and hug Catra as well.
  • When Catra finally passes out from crying so much, Angella picks her up in her arms and cradles her like a child as she and the others walk back to the palace.
  • When Catra wakes up, the princesses and Bow and Seahawk throw her a slumber party to make her feel better. And it actually works. After an hour of pillow fighting, they all fall asleep together, complete with Catra and Glimmer each sleeping on one of Mermista's legs.
  • As Catra sleeps the narration points out, despite wanting more than anything for things to have turned out differently between her and Adora, she is still a little happy having so many friends who care about her.

    Chapter 74
  • After Scorpia breaks down crying after thinking she failed Adora, Lonnie comforts her by say she did protect the fortress long enough for Adora to get here. Scorpia then hugs Lonnie.

    Chapter 118
  • Catra realizes Angella was the one who wished Catra was part of her family. Specifically, that Catra got to experience a true family and considers herself lucky that Catra ended up with hers.
