Heartwarming / Betterman

• The episodes focusing on Keita and Hinoki going out on a date. While Keita starts off by trying to impress Hinoki and create the right mood to kiss her, it eventually winds up with Hinoki bringing Keita to her home, where she explains that she had been afraid to come alone. She immediately apologizes for making it seem like she was just using him, but he just says that he's happy if he can be of any kind of help to her at all. After Yakusugi briefly interrupts them to place a protective barrier around them, as it was dangerous outside, the date concludes with them just silently embracing.
  • Keita's dedication to Hinoki in general is very sweet.
• Episode 9 "Aqua" Betterman going out of his way to help Keita, Hinoki, and Sakura after they'd been doused with a dangerous chemical. Using his remarkable healing abilities to save them from it.
• Episode 19 "Mirror", the gang each confronting (and in some cases even comforting) the manifestations their Dark Side. Sakura dealing with her double in particular stands out.
  Mirror!Sakura: Every word from that mouth of yours is from someone else! What words do you have to say for yourself?
  Sakura: (frightened) I, I can't find them!
  Mirror!Sakura: (snidely) Your words, weren't there to begin with. You've spent so much of your time reading words that you can't see. That you lose your own words, your own thoughts!
  Sakura: Well, maybe that's so.
  Mirror!Sakura: (with a cruel smile) You're just a boring little puke, who likes to pretend to be cute and pleasant!
  Sakura: (with a genuine smile) Thank you.
  Mirror!Sakura: Huh?!
  Sakura: Thank you for letting me hear my own words. And then giving me the chance to face them.
