As a Moments page, per wiki policy Spoilers Off applies here and are unmarked.

  • Just like in Bayonetta 2, Jeanne pushes Bayonetta out of the way and gets captured by the demon squid instead. Bayonetta immediately rushes to help her friend and refuses to leave her behind.
  • Viola and Cheshire's relationship throughout the game is very sweet. It's clear she cares a lot for Cheshire despite him not listening to her at times, and he looks out for Viola when the situation calls for it. Compared to some of the demon contracts we've seen in past games, Cheshire and Viola feel like a genuine friendship instead of contracted partnership.
  • Although the context behind it is sad, Viola always seems excited or happy to spend as much time as she can with Bayonetta, even when she's being called "kitty". Seeing as she lost her mother in what doesn't seem to be too long ago, at least in this alternate universe, she can still spend some more time with her mummy.
  • In one entry during the Tokyo section, Tokyo Bayonetta was cheerfully recalling the past "duels" she had with her version of Jeanne. From sushi eating to karaoke, the two are close despite their supposed rivalry. It's clear how much Tokyo Bayonetta cared for Jeanne and felt something strange must be happening if Jeanne wasn't showing up for their bowling session on time.
  • Prime Bayonetta swearing vengeance for Tokyo Bayonetta's death as well as her Jeanne.
  • Unlike in previous entries Bayonetta actually seems happy to see Luka, not once referring to him as "Cheshire" and just calling him by his name (Luka later implying he "proved himself" to her to get called by name a while ago). Although he does in this scene leave her with his mess as soon as he sees the opportunity. Bayonetta actually calls after him, wanting to know just why he is there.
    • That Prime Bayonetta is a good deal closer to Luka than most variants later gets more explicitly shown when she finds out how the merging realities are effecting him. She shows clear worry, and is ready to drop everything to focus on finding him, only being dissuaded after Viola assures her she understands how important he is to her and promising to locate him while Bayonetta goes back to her mission. Bayonetta muses wistfully that Luka is a bit of a fool but always manages to come back to her with a smile. She then warns that if this doesn't happen she'll have Viola rip the universe apart to find him.
  • When saving Viola from being captured beneath a bell, Bayonetta remarks how she doesn't know why but Viola somehow evokes a soft spot for her. Even in an alternate reality, Bayonetta can still somewhat recognize that Viola is her daughter.
  • In a sense, Tokyo and China have their own heartwarming moments with the militaries fighting off Singularity, as well as a moment in France as well.
    • In Tokyo, two officers are trapped in the Sewers and begging for help to arrive. While Bayonetta must break through the rubble to save them anyways, there's abit of heartwarming in that the officers are immediately glad at being helped when their situation seemed hopeless.
    • In China, after destroying the Virga Homunculus that was causing massive issues for the military and tearing through their ranks, you walk out of the battlefield to find soldiers outside, patching up their wounds or in hopelessness over their situation. But the moment Bayonetta walks out, all of them immediately get up and start cheering for her. Happy that she annihilated the monster? Or because China Bayonetta is that beloved by the soldiers that her appearance boosts their morale? Who can say? Either way, the moment is nice all the same.
    • In France, the military is unfortunately underneath the control of Singularity, forced to move and act against their wills and attack what they once protected. Bayonetta, in sympathy for them, proceeds to summon and order Gommorah to annihilate them all. As to why this is heartwarming, Bayonetta clearly doesn't want to kill them but given she can't extract the Homunculi from them, she has no choice but to do so as quickly as she can. She even hopes that the soldiers can be at peace after destroying them all.
  • While reliving Cairo Bayonetta's memories, she and her version of Jeanne have gotten into a heavy disagreement. Cairo Bayonetta begs Cairo Jeanne to not fight the "interloper" alone, with Cairo Jeanne assuring her she can take care of herself. As the memory comes to an end, Prime Bayonetta sees Cairo Jeanne affectionately place a hand on her cheek before walking away. Bayonetta unconsciously tries to reach out for Jeanne as her image disappears.
  • Baal begging Prime Bayonetta to save Cairo Jeanne and is stressed with worry for her mistress throughout the level.
    • Prime Bayo's reaction is also sweet; instead of being dismissive as usual, she panics and takes back her joking banter when she sees Baal fading after eating a Murus due to Cairo Jeanne's predicament.
    • When using Demon Slave on Baal, Bayo remains supportive of the toad, best shown when Baal uses her singing attack and Bayo praises her during the performance (which does absolutely nothing to enemies for the first three tries, each lasting several seconds, by the way).
      Bayonetta: Just lovely!
  • Cairo Bayonetta sacrifices herself to save Prime Bayonetta and smiles at seeing her safe.
Cairo Bayonetta: Did you see that, Jeanne? I won.
  • Viola passing out due to the heat and dehydration after arriving in the alternate Ciaro. Cheshire takes it upon himself to carry her around as he searches for water. Once he does find some, he tosses Viola into the pool. After she recovers, Viola affectionately pokes at the Cheshire doll on her sword.
    Viola: 'Preciate it, Cheshire.
  • While sad that they had to clash and watching Phantom Thief Bayonetta being killed, Prime Bayonetta still hopes her variant was reunited with her mummy.
    • Phantom Thief Bayonetta loved her mother, and her death by Prime Bayonetta's hands is the reason she chooses to fight her.
  • In what is probably the most tender tone we've ever seen her take with someone, Bayonetta repeatedly reaches out to Luka to try to get through to him, assuring that she'll take care of him and bring him home, not relenting even when he stabs her through the torso. As he is overtaken by the destructive impulses of Dark Adam possessing him, and the battle begins in earnest, Bayonetta reassures him that he may be a fool but he is one she can't imagine her life without. Luka, however, bemoans at length how in the end he is not the "great Luka" but a nobody whose search for truth has gotten him in over his head and now he is even losing himself and become nothing but a monster. Bayonetta listens to the whole self-belittling speech as they fight, then calmly asks if he has gotten all that out of his system, and again assures him she is going to bring him home.
  • The multiverse of Bayonetta's appearing to aid Prime Bayonetta. With the ones we've met in-game nodding in encouragement to our Bayonetta. Even as they're removed from the battle by Singularity (their distorting images indicating they are not actually in the same dimension as the Alphaverse, so he cuts off access from them with his attacks), the Chinese Bayonetta and Cairo Bayonetta still put themselves in front of Prime Bayonetta to protect her. Chinese Bayonetta tries to use her weapon to stop Singularity, while Cairo Bayonetta pushes Prime Bayonetta out of the way as she's taken out instead.
  • Prime Bayonetta's Jeanne reappears and the two fight Singularity together. When Bayonetta can't reach Jeanne anymore, Jeanne simply smiles towards her as she vanishes, likely back to her home dimension.
  • When all hope seems lost, someone appears to shoot Singularity, causing them to drop Bayonetta. Bayonetta nearly falls onto her knees before a familiar hand catches her and playfully hits her forehead with the butt of her gun. It's Bayonetta from the first game.
    • Then the Bayonetta from the second game appears. The two of them teaming up with Prime Bayonetta to help her beat Singularity. The three of them even merge for a time to give Prime Bayonetta an edge in the fight.
  • After Bayonetta's Umbral Watch shatters and falls from her, Gommorah is immediately released from Bayonetta's control and turns on her. Luka is stuck between saving her or saving Viola. He instinctively saves Viola first before slaying Gomorrah and has just enough time to hold Bayonetta in his arms and affirm he'll stay with her forever before the two are dragged into the depths of Inferno.
  • After Dark Arch-Eve is defeated by Viola, she tells her it's time she gives Viola a new name. After the battle is over and Viola is chatting with Rodin we find out Viola was given the title of Bayonetta.
Viola: (smiling) Thanks, Mummy. I'll treasure it, always.
  • At the start of the Epilogue, we see Viola walking into the Gates of Hell and bumping into Enzo who was talking on the phone. While Enzo berates her, he quickly gets back on the phone, talking about buying groceries, baguettes and whatnot, sounding overjoyed. It's all but confirmed to be his wife, and after seeing him utterly heartbroken at the loss of his wife and kids at the start of the game, it's very nice to see he got a good ending after all.
    • It also means that Jeanne could have come back, just like the rest of the deaths caused by the Singularity.
  • The dance sequence at the end of the game showing Prime Jeanne and all of the Bayonetta's, including Viola as the newest, joining each other in one last dance montage.
  • Almost all of the Demon Contracts (sans Gommorah, Alraune, Kraken and the Umbran Clock Tower) can be considered as this to their Bayonettas and Prime Bayonetta. The first and foremost bit that goes across all of them? Unlike Gommorah, they're all perfectly happy to fight against Singularity and the Homunculi, "divinity" or so be damned and they showcase loyalty as well. It goes up to the point they go with Prime Bayonetta when their version dies.
    • Phantasmarae initially shows some snark to Prime Bayonetta, but upon seeing she's like Tokyo Bayonetta, he decides to go along with her, only leaving once his Bayonetta calls him back. Even in his time as The Phantom, he directly tells Prime Bayonetta that he can only remain for five minutes before he blows up from the sheer heat, acquiescing to her orders.
    • Wartrain Gouon's appearance has it joining Prime Bayonetta, if with the understanding that it's conscripting her to help fight. Given it's what she's doing anyways, she goes along with it. Even when it inevitably leaves her, it returns for a portion of the Pyrocumulus fight so it can be used to fire upon it with China Bayonetta keeping it active.
    • Baal initially appears in Cairo after dealing with a memory of Cairo Jeanne, gauging Prime Bayonetta as being worthy and asking for her assistance to aid her master. She's overjoyed when Prime Bayonetta says yes, and offers a song in celebration. Even when she has to return to Cairo Jeanne, she also sorrowfully begs for Prime Bayonetta to keep going and to save her. Even her true form, Baal Zebul, still carries this loyalty and fulfills her promise to sing for Prime Bayonetta, killing scores of Homunculi in the process.
    • After Cairo Jeanne has been gone for awhile, Cairo Bayonetta finally plucks up the courage to fully become an Umbran Witch and engage in a demonic contract with Malphas. While most other Demons would be happy to turn on those who summoned them or manipulate them, as can be seen from Malicious, Pain and Greed, Malphas fully honors the contract and even joins Prime Bayonetta when she enlists his aid. And when Cairo Bayonetta saves an unconscious Prime Bayonetta at the cost of her own life, Malphas sees Cairo Bayonetta's will through and carries Prime to safety.
    • Mictlantecuhtli's loyalty may be the greatest amongst the Demons, but primarily towards French Bayonetta. He was summoned by Paris Bayonetta in order to find the Gear and Rosa, possibly to aid her as well. To achieve that end, it ends up asking Prime Bayonetta to join in order to aid it's quest. Once that's done and Rosa was killed, it immediately takes the Gear and rushes back off to French Bayonetta, even aiding her in fighting against Prime Bayonetta despite their past partnership.
    • Perhaps the only one who can match Mictlantecuhtli's loyalty is none other than Madama Butterfly, Prime Bayonetta's contractor and the one the players have known the longest. She's immediately added as a potential summon when Bayonetta denotes how she wants to play too, and they share a relationship almost as if they're friends instead of contractor and contractee. In particular, they seem to snark at each other, cheer each other on and are even mentioned to have a bond that goes beyond words. She's also perhaps the one demon that Bayonetta doesn't seem to use Demon Slave on in cutscenes, showcasing that Madama is more than willing to act in her own stead and that they fully share goals with each other, even if she's being abit playful about it like in her time as Queen Butterfly.
    • During the Dance Montage in the credits, there are floating crystals that showcase scenes from the trilogy. And while there are some crystals of Bayonetta, there are far more that showcase the people that had an impact on Bayonetta’s life; Luka, Jeanne, Enzo, Rodin, Rosa, the Masked Lumen/Balder, Cereza, Loki and Viola. Seeing them appear so much during the credits show just how much they mean to Bayonetta and how they helped her become the person she was.
  • Bayonetta only calls people by their name once they have earned her respect. She calls Enzo by his name in all three of the games which shows that he has earned her respect from before the first game.
