Movie
- Matt asks George to drive the car.
- Matt, who wasn't too fond of Newcomers and uses racial slurs against them quite frequently, sticks up for George when two other detectives mock him for staying away from the sea (never mind that salt water is like acid to Newcomers) and even breaks one of their noses when they go too far.
- To save Matt from drowning in the ocean, George reaches into the water to grab him. Now, remember that salt water is basically like highly concentrated acid to his species, so one could imagine how much George cares about his partner that he would willingly stick his hand in acid to save his life.
- Matt finally attending his daughter's wedding at the end of the movie.
- In the second TV-movie, Body and Soul, the entire precinct, including not only fellow detectives, but uniformed officers, a SWAT Team, and even a K9 unit, turns out to protect George's family.
- Matthew and Kirby's scenes near the end of "Fifteen with Wanda". Even though Kirby never shows up again in the series the actors really manage to carry it off fairly well.
- Matt helping George deliver Vessna. Sikes can't help but smile as he pulls her out, tearfully proclaiming she's beautiful. Matt's truly come a long way. From staunch bigot to devoted family friend.
