• In the pilot, George's daughter Emily is facing resistance by a gang of purists (humans who hate Newcomers) who are opposing the idea of species integration in schools and want to make an example of her. Matt breaks up the rally without a blow struck by throwing their logic and rhetoric in their face, effectively Shaming the Mob.
  • What makes it even better is that one of the protesters is a black man who is obviously old enough to have lived through the days of racial integration. When Sykes confronts him, the protester suddenly can't think of a thing to say.
