Headscratchers / Yumi's Cells

Go To

  • Do androgynous Cells have canonical genders in the original Korean comic? Of note are One-Step-Behind Cell and Diet Cell, who go through an Inconsistent Dub, and Writer Cell and Cheapskate Cell, who are male in the English translation of the comic but female in the sub of the TV series. Is it possible that the genders were decided after the casting?
  • Why do Yumi's Cells call Babi "Oppa" when he's presumably the same age as her? Is he actually older than her, or is it just the Cells' term of endearment for him?
  • Is "Zwon Song" (Chapters 400 and 401) Control-Z's real name? "Jiwon" can be spelled "Zwon", but is "Song" intended to be his family name or the literal word "song" (an indicator that he gets A Day in the Limelight)?
  • Was Ruby's surname always Lee, or was she Named by the Adaptation? Part of a Yumi's Cells exhibition listed out the full names of everyone except Ruby, including Eda, whose surname wasn't revealed in the English translation of the comic.
