Headscratchers / Unicorn: Warriors Eternal

  • Why didn't Copernicus kill two birds with one stone by reawakening Edred's soul in Winston?
    • Because Edred's soul wasn't in Winston, it was in Dmitri?
      • I don't get the impression that Dmitri was ever supposed to be Edred's reincarnation. Seems like Copernicus just chose him because he happened to be simping for Melinda at the time. Judging by the prologue in the first episode, Edred's host body was always a mighty warrior of some sort—Viking, knight, cowboy... going from that lineage to a shady Russian street magician definitely would be odd.
      • We've only seen those three reincarnations out of a cycle that's been going on for at least a thousand years. It's likely that at least a few of the offscreen hosts weren't warriors when chosen.
    • Copernicus activated Emma on her wedding day, probably the worst possible time. I think it's safe to say that he doesn't choose who becomes the new host of the heroes, there's some outside force that picks them ahead of time.

  • Why did Merlin only recruit three people to fight as Unicorn? Sure, he probably thought they would be strong enough at first, but isn't the goal to destroy the evil permanently? Edred even says that their reincarnation cycle can't last forever, so it isn't like the actual goal is to simply make the evil go dormant until the next generation. Why didn't Merlin start recruiting more members later on, after the first three or four reincarnations failed to completely eradicate the evil?
