  • The Touken Danshi travel back in time to prevent the Historical Retrograde Army from changing history, but to accomplish this, they often engage in behavior that would realistically alter the course of history in some ways, such as directly interacting with historical figures in order to influence them to make the "correct" choices in accordance to their timeline. Despite this, neither the game nor the characters treat their own actions, which can be as direct as executing a historical figure to ensure that they die as they were intended, or fighting another historical figure to convince them to do the right thing, as if they would change history even though they're pretty much doing the same things as the Historical Retrograde Army, just for the sake of good. Even when it's revealed in Chapter 5 that the vast majority of the game takes place in a Dream Sequence, you still have to assume that this is how the Touken Danshi usually operate on missions. How have they not altered history before with their reckless actions?
  • Aside from the Touken Danshi, the presence of the Historical Retrograde Army should change something about history, shouldn't it? Skeletal monsters with knives in their mouths targeting major figures would not be overlooked simply because the Touken Danshi went back and wiped them out. It's not like defeating them made the historical figures forget they existed. That is something that would be recorded in history books. The Touken Danshi would likely end up in history books as well for helping them, especially since at least one historical figure finds out that they aren't human. They would undoubtedly become the subject of stories that people would debate the authenticity of. Despite this, the game says that things still somehow play out as intended once they characters finish their missions.
  • Outside of Kurokage, who was merely a Touken Danshi corrupted by the Historical Revisionists, the player never sees or hears the Historical Revisionists speak, which begs the question of how they were able to persuade historical figures to work with them looking the way you do. They don't appear any different to the human characters in the setting, because those who aren't working with them call them monsters outright, so how did they communicate that they wanted to "help them?" Did Kurokage do all of the talking?
  • The historical figures are surprisingly nonchalant about men with strange clothing walking around them wielding swords that they know they currently own. For example, Shokudaikiri Mitsutada is a sword owned by Date Masamune and fights him using it. You'd think that since Date Masamune is already suspicious of them, he'd accuse the Touken Danshi of theft and try to have them executed, but this is never a scenario that occurs in the game.
  • Did the Historical Retrograde Army just give up on their crusade to kill the Touken Danshi in that particular Honmaru after Kurokage came to his senses? Or will they be coming back for a sequel to pick up where they left off?
