• Why did Mack change the movie? She liked the movie, to an extent, and it's Brady's favorite movie, plus it's a piece of early 60s cinema. It also helped mold Brady into who he is and his ambitions in life. All of this changed when the movie did, to where it's Mack's favorite movie and Brady is ok with the movie, but doesn't really consider it a classic like he did originally. Did Mack not think her relationship with Brady was going to last much longer, or did she hate the original movie that much? It also comes right out of nowhere considering how she was worried history was going to change if the movie ceased to exist, so she's a hypocrite if she was worried about history changing... Only to go and force a slightly different change herself. Also, was the movie worth changing at all? It's a dumb 60s beach movie musical, much like Grease is a dumb 70s high school musical. Serious Alternate Character Interpretation here for her motives.
  • She didn't do it to change the movie, she did it so Lela wouldn't have to live out her life feeling unfulfilled. She put Lela's feelings ahead of her relationship with Brady, darn the consequences.
  • We do loose Brady’s favorite movie but we get a different 60s classic film that lots of teens seem to be into, heck Brady seemed to like the new movie fine. He seems to like musicals, and just hasn’t seen Lela Queen of the beach yet. Although a mid/after credits scene of Brady showing Mack his surf boards would have been nice.
