  • Before the Carnage fight, Venom was clearly knocked unconscious (or at least beaten to submission), laying on the floor of Doc Ock's underwater base. However, after the Monster Ock level, he reappears on the Quinjet, fully lucid. Black Cat had contacted Cap about the situation after Spidey rescued her, but the question is: how did Venom even get on board? They may not have been able to reach out and contact him through normal means, since he was technically underwater. While he does have the invisibility power and that he can recover swiftly from any attack that isn't fire or sonic-related, there wasn't necessarily a quick exit from the base either for him to use. When Monster Ock came up, did the explosions wake Venom up? Did he smash a hole into the base and just swim away until he found the Quinjet?
    • The way I see it, there are two possible explanations: 1.) Structural damage from Monster Ock's initial rampage and the subsequent meltdown exposed portions of the base to the ocean, literally flushing Venom out into the open sea just before the explosion consumed the room he was in. He regained consciousness soon after and swam to the surface where he was picked up by Cap and Cat. 2.) Venom regained consciousness during Spidey's fight with Carnage and left the base to go get help. That theory seems a bit... unlikely, as it implies Venom knowingly left Spider-Man to die at the hands of Carnage, given that Venom himself couldn't even take him down. Venom can be a dick, but even a dick move like that seems incredibly out of character for him.
  • Why were Mysterio and the symbiotes even at the Daily Bugle in the first place? Seems like a weird place to just have a whole bunch of symbiote-processing machines there? And for that matter, it's a really odd coincidence that both the machines and Mysterio would just happen to be at the place where Spidey and Venom chose to visit just to gather a tiny bit of info.
    • The saying of "right under our noses" plays a role here. Who would believe that such a hideout exists under the Daily Bugle anyway? Additionally, this is one of the many "What If?" Spider-Man stories because future games (minus Enter Electro which takes place in the same timeline) and media do not have such a hideout under the Daily Bugle.
  • What exactly was Ock's plan, what was the logic in it (if any), and how exactly would it have worked in his favor? As we've seen in Web of Shadows, an entire city of symbiotes alone would be catastrophic.
    • Doc Ock wanted to take over the world using symbiotes. But that did not go well because no one can control the symbiotes. Web of Shadows is an unintentional What If? type of scenario to have symbiotes on a rampage and somehow Peter claimed that he could control the symbiote which could lead to one of the bad/Black Suit endings (depending on the Player's choices) which implies that the symbiote actually controlled Peter after all, enhancing his darkest desires.
  • The whole situation with the Lizard doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Here, he seems to be living in a self-imposed exile in the sewers in the company of his lizardmen before Venom imprisons him. When Peter meets him, he is capable of complete, rational thought and human speech. Then come Enter Electro, which seems to be set almost immediately after this game, Curt Connors is fully human and working with Dr. Watts, and upon becoming the Lizard, he is mindlessly vicious and devoid of any human reason. I would honestly be impressed if someone could come up with an explanation for this.
