Headscratchers / Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time

• One of the death traps Ratchet faces in the Valkyrie citadel is Deadly Gas that whittles away at his health, similar to the gas challenges at the Agorian Battleplex. Was there a reason he didn't use his O2 Mask to negate the gas' effects, aside from the player's inability to equip it manually? If that thing can let him breathe in the vacuum of space, it should surely work against toxic atmospheres, like it did in the first game.
  • Justified in the case of the arena challenges, as the arena rules probably prohibited him from using it.
