  • While it is one thing to develop an android that could serve as a companion for human beings, it's another to equip them with super strength and super speed. Moreover, since Giftia have pre-determined lifespans, it'll only be a matter of time before they go berserk and threaten the lives of others. So... why were the additions of super strength and speed to Giftia a good idea in the first place?
    • The engineers probably did it so the Giftia would be strong enough to help lift a person, such as an elderly one that falls down and can't get back up on their own. They probably overlooked that a Giftia that turns into a Wanderer would suddenly be running at full strength/speed whereas a normal one probably has software running to artificially limit its power output. How the company was not sued out of existence after the first Wanderer incident, or the first few at least, is a bigger mystery.
      • WMG, but, it is possible they discovered the lifespan part after the first few Wanderers.
      • The could also have users sign a contact relieving them of responsibility in case the owner fail to return the giftia.
      • Why would a Giftia need car lifting strength to lift a human?

  • The problem with the memories... why not just create a back-up? After all, this is the company that managed to create androids that can barely be differentiated from a human, but somehow a simple back-up is far more than they can handle?
    • I think we should apply large doses of MST3K Mantra liberally here. Or WMG, they'll figure out a way to preserve a Giftia's memories/personality, so they can continue to live on as themselves rather than be deleted/destroyed.
      • My guess is the memories themselves are what causing the Wanderers, making backing up memories useless since the corruption will still remain, that's why you can pay to have the original body with a clean mind after it expires.

  • Giftia are seen eating and drinking. But since they don't need a stomach to get their energy, one has to wonder why they would even be programmed to do this seemingly wasteful task. Not to mention where does all that food and drink goes, Isla's Potty Emergency in the first episode aside.
    • They might have Bio Converters...
    • Alternatively, it might be to make them seem more human. An Isaac Asimov story has a robot built to imitate a human capable of eating so that he can blend in better. Humans are social creatures, and eating is a social activity. Sitting down to a meal with a person who isn't eating can be unnerving enough. Sitting down to eat with an android who can't? It would only serve to remind the owner of their robotic status and put them into the Uncanny Valley.

  • What was with that "I hope you are reunited with the one you love" line that kept getting repeated at the end? Does that mean the person at the end of the last episode was Isla, or were they just foreshadowing nothing?

  • At the end of Episode 5 Marcia becomes a Wanderer and tries to strangle Souta. Given the strength that Giftias are supposedly capable of, why didn't the victim's neck just snap instantly?

  • If it is well known what happens to a Giftian after it expires, why hasn't anyone implemented an kill switch that triggers when that time expires to avoid incidents?
