- Why is Dave as poor as the nomads and why would he self-identify with them? Isn't he an employee at a National Park. That's generally people with a strong educational background, a salary, and benefits.
- Dave's not a ranger - you don't have to be one to be a tour guide. As we can see with the other nomads at the national park, they're just filling in non-ranger tasks, like maintenance or camp hosting.
- Just curious: Where did they find the cast from? No one outside of Frances McDormand and David Strathairn has any prior IMDB credits.
- Most of the cast besides McDormand and Strathairn are nonprofessionals, and some were featured in the nonfiction book the movie was based on. Chloé Zhao has done this before - her film The Rider had a cast consisting mostly of people playing variations of themselves.
